TWZ: the wreckage of the downed heavy UAV Hunter will be an important find for the United States
The wreckage of the newest Russian drone S-70 "Hunter", if they get to the intelligence of Western countries, can become an important and valuable find for them, as pointed out by the author of the portal The War Zone (TWZ). Moreover, a version has been put forward that they have already ended up in the hands of Western specialists.
Earlier it became known that the Hunter was shot down in the special operation zone, and this, presumably, was done by its own Su-57 fighter in order to avoid its falling to the American side in an absolutely complete form. Before that, the control of the drone was lost.

According to author Tyler Rogovey, the C-70 crashed near Konstantinovka in the DPR, in the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The video of the falling debris confirms that they depict a "Hunter" who was fired at from an airplane at close range.

Rogovey suggests that the S-70 was used in combat as part of its ongoing development. Speaking about the reasons why he was shot down by his own plane, he believes that the operators could have lost control of the UAV, it deviated from its course over the territory controlled by Ukraine. "There could be a malfunction in the systems, and here we are talking about a very dense electronic warfare environment," the author suggests.
Also, according to him, shooting down their own drones in case their loss poses a security threat is "a common occurrence," and the United States has done so many times. "A drone like the S-70, lost on Ukrainian territory in a semi-undamaged state, would be a huge problem for Russia, so it seems that the decision was made to destroy it. Getting large parts of it into the hands of Western intelligence would be a big deal," Rogovey added, while pointing out that its large fragments had already been quickly removed.

He also gave a description of the S-70: it is a heavy strike and reconnaissance tactical drone that is capable of conducting both independent operations and paired with other aircraft (manned or unmanned). One of the advantages is the flight range and stealth, which makes it less vulnerable to air defense.

On October 5, it became known that the Russian Armed Forces had lost the newest S-70 Hunter drone. This was reported by war correspondent Alexander Kotz and Russian Telegram channels writing about the conflict with Ukraine.

Earlier, a video appeared on social networks showing the fall of a UAV. "They report from the field: our newest heavy attack drone S-70 Hunter has been lost near Konstantinovka. Eyewitness videos say that this is most likely the case — the silhouette of the falling car is very similar to the silhouette of this drone," Kotz wrote.
The military commander added that, according to preliminary data, the drone was shot down by an air-to-air missile of the lead fighter. "Perhaps there was a violation of the communication channel, and the C-70 became uncontrollable," he said. This information was confirmed by the Telegram channel "Two Majors".
