The current military conflict in Ukraine is already rightly called the drone war. At the same time, so far it is mainly about the combat use of various types of UAVs. However, it is obvious that the future belongs to those armies that will be equipped with the widest range of robotic systems, including those capable of solving tasks without human intervention at all and interacting with each other.
The Russian leadership understands this perfectly well. The Government of the Russian Federation implements several programs and provides extensive support to both scientific and industrial state defense industrial companies and private ones for the development of robotics for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.
Today, a strategic session was held at the Military Innovation Technopolis ERA under the leadership of Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, who is also responsible for the industrial block, including the military-industrial complex. It was devoted to discussing the expansion of the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in terms of the use of robotic systems. This is reported by the Russian military department.
In addition to the Deputy Prime Minister, the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexey Krivoruchko, members of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission and the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, heads of military administration bodies and enterprises of the military-industrial complex, as well as the Popular Front and the People's Defense Industry.

The participants of the event talked about the most pressing issues regarding the development of military robotics in Russia. The issues of the development of mobile robots and unmanned marine drones were discussed, as well as ways to increase the capabilities of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, taking into account the use of ground-based robotic systems, primarily based on the experience of conducting their own.

— noted Manturov.
It is worth noting that the event was not limited to just a meeting and discussions. An exhibition was organized at the technopolis site, where enterprises of the Russian defense industry presented modern and promising samples of land and marine robotics, including robotic platforms, mobile mine clearance and evacuation platforms, mobile radar stations and anti-tank missile systems, universal tracked chassis and many others. The Deputy Prime Minister personally familiarized himself with the product samples.

In addition to the already "traditional" unmanned aerial vehicles, including new modifications of the multirotor type, models of a heavy assault robotic complex based on T-72 tanks were demonstrated at the exposition. It is designed to increase the effectiveness of assault missions when breaking through enemy fortified areas. These unmanned complexes are also capable of destroying highly protected objects and suppressing firing points. Their use in combat conditions reduces losses in personnel.
The advantages of such complexes are high firepower, security, mobility, while simultaneously implementing the principle of network-centric control in automatic mode with a reduction in the influence of the human factor.
Of course, so far these are mostly prototypes and prototypes. But as you know, nothing stimulates the scientific and technical development of the state more than participation in a military conflict. Moreover, the Russian Armed Forces have a unique opportunity to experience all these novelties in real battles.
