Patrushev: Navy ships should be superior to enemy ships in terms of characteristics
MOSCOW, October 2 - RIA Novosti. The ships of the Russian Navy should surpass similar ships of a likely enemy in their characteristics and technological potential, said Nikolai Patrushev, assistant to the President of Russia, chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation.
He visited JSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky in Tatarstan (part of JSC Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation) and held a meeting there to discuss the current state and development prospects of Ak Bars Corporation. Issues of execution of contracts within the framework of the state defense order, as well as the construction of a passenger fleet, were considered, Patrushev's office told reporters.
"Our ships, in terms of their characteristics and technological potential, should surpass similar ships of a likely enemy," Patrushev said.
It is important to ensure the serial construction of ships and vessels, he stressed. "At the same time, it is necessary to organize the process of building the ship in strict accordance with the design documentation, eliminating haphazard changes to the project during its construction," Patrushev said.
According to him, taking into account the fact that Ak Bars' investment activities for the development of production facilities are carried out on a planned basis, "it is necessary to focus investment projects on achieving the technological sovereignty of shipbuilding, as well as related and supporting industries such as engine building, radioelectronic industry, machine tool construction." One of the most important directions is also the creation of a system of training and retraining of highly qualified specialists, Patrushev added.
Patrushev inspected the production workshops of the enterprise, where new equipment was installed as part of the plant's technical re-equipment program. In particular, he got acquainted with the work of the hull-harvesting and sectional assembly workshops, where metal processing and assembly of the hulls of future ships and vessels are carried out, as well as slipway-finishing workshops, where orders are being built.
Alexander Filippov, General Director of the enterprise, and Renat Mistakhov, General Director of Ak Bars, spoke about the company's development program in terms of introducing the latest technologies in shipbuilding, and also reported on the continuation of a large-scale program of technical re-equipment of production. "Modernization of production lines, updating of equipment, machine park, as well as the introduction of highly efficient methods of work organization and management allows the plant to produce competitive products under the sign of high quality and master innovative projects," the message says.
As Patrushev noted, the structure of Ak Bars allows for the development, construction and repair of ships and vessels under a single leadership. According to him, the corporation includes enterprises with modern extensive competencies.
"Zelenodolsk Gorky Plant has extensive experience in the construction of marine and river ships and vessels. The location allows for the supply of ships and vessels to any regions of the basins of the Black, Caspian, Baltic Seas, and Arctic Ocean via inland waterways," he concluded.
