The production of permanent magnet electric motors is being launched in Perm. The demanded products for unmanned aerial vehicles will be produced by the Perm company MotorSkai LLC.
By the end of 2024, the company will produce the first batch of electric motors for existing orders. In a year, the production volume will be more than 10 thousand units of each model.
According to Dmitry Lebedev, director of MotorSkai, the development of the company will entail the emergence of new jobs for the production of high-tech products, as the market for unmanned aerial vehicles is growing rapidly.
The line will include four modifications of electric motors with a capacity from 250 watts to two kilowatts. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that they have increased reliability compared to foreign analogues, are cheaper due to the use of modern technologies, and are not inferior in size and weight to analogues. MotorSkai employees have developed brushless brushless power plants with a new principle of operation of a synchronous motor.
Perm production will allow for full import substitution of engines of well-known models. For example, after dismantling a faulty electric motor from the popular Chinese DJI Mavic quadcopter, a MotorSkai domestic development unit can be installed on it, and the quadcopter will continue to work as if nothing had happened.
In three years, the company plans to develop engines for traction systems of electric loaders, electric scooters, electric bicycles and even for electric vehicles. The company's goal is to become a leader in the production of modern electric motors with improved performance and weight dimensions.
In Russia, the current volume of production of UAS (unmanned automatic systems) is six thousand units per month, the planned one should reach 32 thousand by 2030. The forecast of the UAS market in Russia by this point is 120 billion rubles.
Drones are currently used in dozens of sectors of the economy. These are the fuel and energy complex, agriculture, construction, transport, tourism, geodesy and many, many others. Over the past year alone, the Russian BASS market has grown by 129 percent compared to 2022 and reached 33.7 billion handlebars.
Of course, this growth was mainly due to sales of special equipment for the needs of the army: the volume increased by 318 percent compared to 2022. The UAS market in the civil sector grew by 35 percent year-on-year, to 19.8 billion rubles.
According to the draft strategy for the development of unmanned aerial systems, the volume of the Russian drone market by 2030 should amount to almost 181 thousand units, of which 147.2 thousand will be produced domestically.
