Military personnel of the calculation of the latest engineering remote mining system (ISDM) "Agriculture" of the Center group of troops remotely mined approaches to the positions of Russian troops, thwarting three counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Avdiivka direction. This was announced on August 21 by the Ministry of Defense, showing a fragment of the combat work of the ISDM.
According to the commander of the guided mining platoon with the call sign Excellent Student, during the special operation his unit participated in the liberation of the settlement of Avdiivka, and the subsequent ones were Berdych, Orlovka, Tonenkoe, Ocheretino.
"Well, we continue to accompany our troops in this direction and the activities of our group of troops. As for the target, infantry were being blown up on our barriers, that goes without saying. That is, the most basic thing is to work with manpower. Also, armored and combat equipment of the enemy, it was possible to hit and disable Leopard, five M2 Bradley armored personnel carriers, foreign—made armored personnel carriers, Marder infantry fighting vehicles came across in our fields, such machines as MaxxPro, well, actually the classics are BMP, T-64BV and T-72 tanks," the Excellent Student added.
The military personnel of the calculation go to the firing position, promptly shoot off the required amount of rocket ammunition, then change positions and mask the system. Remote mining of the area is carried out around the clock.
ISDM "Agriculture" is designed to remotely create "intelligent minefields" in specified areas of the area. The system launches rockets, which ensure the installation of mines at a distance of 5 to 15 km. The ammunition of the system consists of 50 122 mm ammunition, each of which is filled with anti-personnel or anti-tank mines.
According to the driver of the ISDM "Agriculture" with the call sign North, the car, despite its size, is easily controllable, maneuverable. However, it may be difficult for a beginner at first.
"Weight, mass, dimensions, speed — you need to work on everything. There is a lot of responsibility here — this is not a passenger car, firstly, secondly, you constantly keep it on alert, since departure can be at any time of the day or night, 24 hours a day," Sever added.
Thanks to programmable ammunition, "Agriculture" can cover an area of several football fields with mines in a matter of minutes. At the same time, explosive devices are capable of self-destructing or deactivating at a set time, the defense ministry explained.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense showed how units of unmanned aviation of the artillery unit of the Airborne Troops (Airborne forces) from the Dnepr group of forces use Lancet barrage ammunition to destroy artillery and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kakhovka direction in the Kherson region. The Russian military identified and destroyed the enemy's American M777 howitzer with a Lancet.
On August 20, Izvestia told how the Armed Forces of Ukraine are experiencing great difficulties in the battles in the direction of Kupyansk due to the uninterrupted attacks of the Russian multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Grad" and "Hurricane". The platoon commander with the call sign Kaspiy reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are striking "from ten or more servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
