The experience of using multi-towered infantry fighting vehicles, nicknamed "desert monsters", "mobile fortresses" or "land cruisers" in Syria, is probably relevant now.
These versions of the first-generation BMP were created by government troops fighting terrorists. They received lattice screens installed in a circle.

They have armored boxes above the landing squads, above which "turrets" were installed - additional large-caliber machine guns with shields. Their number was different: one or two. At the same time, it is possible to install two more to cover the rear hemisphere, including from attacking FPV drones from the stern.

Also, anti-drone visors, or, as they are also called, "braziers", which were widely used in the Russian troops, could become additional protection.
This version is interesting because the main tower with weapons remains, allowing you to fight light armored vehicles.
