Unmanned aerial vehicles launched by the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) were shot down by air defense means of one of the warships of the Greek Navy. Footage of the destruction of Houthi drones has appeared on the Internet.
Two Houthi unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed at a time when the Greek Navy's Hydra-class frigate Psara (MEKO 200) and the Royal Netherlands Navy's multipurpose amphibious support ship Karel Doorman were escorting a cargo ship belonging to one of the Cypriot companies and flying the flag of Panama through the Gulf of Aden.
The ships of the Greek and Dutch Navies began escorting the ship after it left the port of Djibouti and brought it to the Gulf of Aden. The Houthis tried to attack the column with drones, but this time the attempt was unsuccessful.
As it became known, the frigate of the Greek Navy Psara used a 127-mm gun against the Houthis. In addition, according to a number of military analysts, the ship could successfully use the electronic warfare system recently installed on it. Two more Houthi drones that took part in the attack were knocked off course and withdrew.
