In 2024, the fleet will receive more than 40 new ships
The Russian Navy needs to be retrofitted with additional firepower, while it itself must be reliably protected from attacks already on distant approaches: to do this, it must be provided with modern threat detection systems. Vladimir Putin said this on June 26 at a meeting on shipbuilding issues. Today's geopolitical threats require the Russian Federation to strengthen the army and navy. Thus, when forming the state defense order, the planning horizon should reach at least 2050, the president stressed. The development of shipbuilding in general requires an influx of new personnel. It is necessary to create attractive working conditions for them and provide decent salaries. How the sphere copes with import substitution and which city Vladimir Putin visited is in the Izvestia article.
Which ships are entering service in the Russian Federation
Vladimir Putin called a meeting on shipbuilding closer to midnight. The agenda includes the topic of ensuring the defense and security of the state, the long-term development of the Navy and the shipbuilding industry. He recalled that the fundamentals of state policy in the field of naval activities until 2030 set clear guidelines: the comprehensive development of the fleet, including ship, aviation and coastal components, home-based infrastructure, strengthening positions in strategically important areas of the World Ocean, and a qualitative increase in combat potential.

The state defense order for the ships, on the instructions of the president, should be planned "at least until the middle of the century." The Russian fleet is already being replenished with new ships and equipped with modern weapons: in 2024 it will receive more than 40 new ships. However, today they need to be retrofitted with additional firepower, as well as continue to develop remote threat detection systems, including through drones.
— We all understand the increasing degree of geopolitical tension in the modern world, we hear regular threats against Russia from the ruling circles of a number of countries and even see concrete actions to implement such threats. Naturally, we must take this as seriously as possible, calculate all possible risks and plan an adequate response, strengthen our Armed Forces and Navy," Vladimir Putin said.
Our fleet must be protected from attacks even on distant approaches, therefore it is necessary to develop its reconnaissance aircraft, increase the forces and means of conducting electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare, the Russian leader stressed.

In general, a lot of work is underway today to achieve technological sovereignty, including in shipbuilding: last year, St. Andrew's flags were raised on two nuclear submarines and four surface ships. The Baltic Fleet received the Naro-Fominsk MRK and the Lev Chernavin mine defense ship, and the Black Sea Fleet received the Mercury corvette. The Pacific Fleet includes two nuclear—powered submarines - the Emperor Alexander III and Krasnoyarsk. Since this year, the Admiral Golovko missile frigate has been serving in the Northern Fleet, which has been armed with hypersonic Zircons. Large-scale changes have begun in the shipbuilding industry as a whole, designed to increase its efficiency and the pace of fulfillment of the state defense order, said Alexander Spiridonov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, former technical head at Sevmash.
— Despite unprecedented sanctions, the industry is now on the rise and the pace of construction in the interests of the Navy will only increase. I would like to emphasize that today in the Russian navy, especially in nuclear submarine shipbuilding, we are almost completely independent of supplies from foreign countries, since for quite a long time in the military fleet we have been working on the creation of our components, our equipment, since this is extremely important for the sovereignty of the country," he told Izvestia.
How will the shipbuilding industry be modernized
The most important task for the long-term development of shipbuilding remains the influx of qualified personnel to design bureaus, shipyards and factories, and throughout the country, the president stressed.
— Today, many manufacturers of components — steam turbine installations, electrical products and electronic equipment, diesel engines and aggregates — are loaded "to full capacity". In order to avoid a shortage of supplies, postponement of ship delivery dates, enterprises will have to be forcefully modernized, and production volumes of equipment and components will increase," he said.
Against this background, it is also necessary to create attractive, competitive working conditions in shipbuilding, to provide decent incomes to workers, engineers, technical personnel, and managers. The same applies to shipbuilders.

— As for wages, the inspection of the prosecutor's office shows that the level is quite modest so far, — the president drew attention.
On the same day, Vladimir Putin arrived in Sergiev Posad and visited the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra. There he worshiped the icon of the Holy Trinity by Andrei Rublev, which was delivered from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on June 22, on the eve of the Orthodox feast of the Holy Trinity. The President was presented with a mock-up of the Sergiev Posad development project. In particular, the idea of creating a pilgrimage and tourism cluster designed for 5 million tourists per year. It is proposed to focus Orthodox cultural, museum, historical spaces, recreation areas around the lavra, which will tell tourists as much as possible about Orthodoxy and its role in the history of Russia. Later, the president talked with the faithful who gathered at the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
