The most modern ships, unmanned boats and anti-drone missiles were shown in Kronstadt
The first Russian—made unmanned launch, short-range anti-aircraft missiles to combat drones, an airspace control system, as well as the most modern ships and submarines of the Russian Navy - all this is shown at the Fleet 2024 International Naval Salon, which opened on Wednesday. More than a hundred enterprises and organizations presented their products. It is expected that 15 foreign military delegations and 50 military attaches from friendly countries will visit the salon. What was shown at the marine salon
For the second year, novelties in shipbuilding, naval weapons and special equipment have been exhibited at the Convention and Exhibition Center of the Island of Forts Park. There is an exhibition of ships and vessels, as well as military equipment of the coastal troops of the Russian Navy, adopted in recent years, in the military harbor of Kronstadt.
— The Russian Navy will demonstrate modern ships, vessels, boats, combat strike systems here, which are open to everyone for inspection. The Naval Salon, a platform for discussions with a scientific and business program, will touch on scientific and topical topics. Including, of course, the construction of the fleet, the development of individual systems, military education, and personnel training," said Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander—in—Chief of the Russian Navy.
In addition, the admiral said that work is already underway on nuclear submarines of the 5th generation.
"We always think about the future, and the reserve of nuclear submarines is being implemented now," he said, adding that we are talking about creating both new nuclear—powered strategic missile cruisers and multi—purpose submarines.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the performance of the Russian Knights aerobatic team took place.
Missiles against drones
One of the main novelties of the salon is the TKB—10-55 short-range interception missiles for combating drones of the Pantsir-M sea-based anti-aircraft missile and artillery complex (ZRAK). To fire these ammunition, a transition unit is installed on the ZRAK, which allows four smaller missiles to be placed instead of one standard missile. As a result, the combat kit of the complex can be increased from 12 to up to 48 anti-aircraft ammunition. The new missiles can also be used by land-based modifications of the "Shells".
"They effectively destroy airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles and UAVs of various types — both large aircraft—type and quadrocopters," a representative of the High-Precision Complexes holding told Izvestia. — The range of hitting targets is seven, and the altitude is five kilometers. The minimum range is 500 meters and the height is 15 meters.
According to the representative of the holding, these missiles, among other things, seriously increase the survivability of a combat vehicle.
— The ammunition supply is greatly increasing, — he noted. — The "efficiency-cost" indicator is also improving. For cheap targets — the same small UAVs — it is better to use short-range interception missiles, they cost significantly less than regular ones.
The first non-emergency
The exhibition featured the first domestic marine unmanned launch (BEC) Vizir. Its length is 7 meters and its width is 2.5 meters. It can carry a payload for various purposes and reach speeds of up to 45 km per hour. The range of the drone is up to 270 miles. The presence of a special platform allows you to work calmly in conditions of excitement, strong wind and keep set goals.
The exhibition presents the Berezhok combat module, which can be installed on armored vehicles. It consists of a 30 mm automatic cannon, four launchers of the Kornet anti-tank missile system, a grenade launcher, and a machine gun. With such a module, the machine can destroy tanks and armored vehicles, field fortifications and other targets. As a representative of the manufacturer told Izvestia, the Berezhok module can be equipped with BMP-1 and other armored vehicles produced in large quantities. Moreover, if it can be installed on the BMP-1 only in factory conditions, then the BMP-2 can actually change the tower to the Berezhok in the field.
How to detect a drone
The Tula Central Design Bureau of Apparatus Engineering showed at the exhibition an airspace control System consisting of a radar with a phased array antenna. It will allow you to control the sky next to a protected object without turning off for two and a half years.
— The system can detect the most difficult aerial target, — a representative of the company told Izvestia. — It is not difficult for any manufacturer in the world today to notice, for example, a fighter or a bomber. We can also detect such types of aerial targets as copter-type drones the size of a piece of paper. A copter that carries a maximum video camera, for example, the Mavic 2, is guaranteed to be detected at ranges up to four kilometers. The Baba Yaga drone is guaranteed to be visible for 15-18 km.
The system can be linked to the air defense system, it will be able to issue target designation in real time.
What ships are being demonstrated in Kronstadt
In the military harbor, you can see submarines of projects 636.3 and 677, built at the Admiralty Shipyards.
The corvette of project 20380 stands out among the surface ships. They are among the most advanced ships in Russia, have powerful strike missile weapons and are built using stealth technologies.
Small missile ships of projects 21631 Buyan-M and 22800 Karakurt, and a naval minesweeper of project 12700 Alexandrite are located at the mooring wall of the connection of ships protecting the water area of the Leningrad Naval Base.
The amphibious forces of the fleet are represented by the hovercraft of project 12322 "Zubr", which can go ashore and instantly land personnel and equipment, as well as boats of projects 21820 and 11770.
The anti-sabotage boat of project 21980, the small hydrographic vessel of project 19910 and the large hydrographic boat of project 19920 are located nearby. In addition, the launchers of the coastal missile systems "Bal" and "Bastion" are demonstrated — their missiles can destroy targets at a distance of up to 260 and 500 km, respectively.
The Museum of Naval Glory has been open in the Convention and Exhibition Center all these days. There you can see the first nuclear submarine K-3 "Leninsky Komsomol".
