The technology allows for the healing of complex postoperative and burn wounds
The Russian cellular regenerative technology Cortexil PRP, previously used in cosmetology, began to be used to treat fighters with complex wounds that do not heal for a long time, Izvestia found out. The PRP technology is safe, as it triggers the body's natural ability to regenerate using plasma from a person's own blood, experts say. The results look very encouraging, and doctors have plans to expand the use of plasma therapy for rehabilitation purposes.
PRP technology is in business
Doctors with the help of Cortexil PRP cellular regenerative technology helped to restore the skin of fighters after serious injuries. Svetlana Koladeychik, General Director of Regeneration PRO, told Izvestia about this.
"The whole recovery process for one of the fighters was slow," she said. — The wounded man was examined by me and military doctors from other departments after he had been in the hospital for a month and a half. At that time, the main wounds had almost healed, and there were large defects on the skin. And we came to the conclusion that a soldier needs to inject PRP under the skin, that is, directly into the muscles, in order for high-quality young connective tissue to grow.

PRP is plasma with a concentration of 1 million viable platelets in one microliter. Plasma itself is a good nutrient medium for tissues, it contains hormones, vitamins, enzymes and nutrients, in particular glucose and lipids, the interlocutor of the publication noted. But unlike other Cortexil technologies, PRP also contains living cells.
— By injecting the drug, we enhance physiological regeneration at any point of injection. That is, when doctors inject living cell mass, which is obtained from human blood, they simulate bleeding at the injection point and the brain begins to concentrate all its regenerative resources on this signal. But there are certain conditions: the cells must be collected alive, certain physical, chemical and time parameters must be observed," the director of the company clarified.

In addition, the fighter was admitted to the hospital with a trench foot. This happens to soldiers who have been in the trenches for a long time.
— It looks like bedsores, as it occurs for almost the same reasons — a person is constantly in the same position, cold, damp, — Svetlana Koladeychik clarified. — And it can easily end in amputation, so my colleagues drew my attention to this condition of the fighter and said that it would be appropriate to carry out the PRP procedure here. We have not treated the trench foot yet, but in theory we could help in the early stages to reduce the volume of the lesion — the amputation zone or improve the quality of a part of the limb after. And PRP therapy can be integrated into the rehabilitation process at any stage. And thanks to it, you can also make the brain pay attention to these chronic wounds, which are not a priority.
Real-life cases
PRP can also be administered in case of damage to any joints and intervertebral discs.
— Our fighters are in heavy uniforms and running all the time. This causes them pain and discomfort — in particular, my husband has numbness of the fingers, lower back pain and dizziness associated with compression load on the spine. So, for example, when he jumped off the Ural in unloading, one leg was immediately taken away from him, then it was partially restored on drugs. Now, when my husband comes on vacation, we try to carry out the PRP procedure regularly in order to bring him back to normal," Svetlana Mikhailovna shared her personal story with Izvestia.
According to the interviewee, if from time to time PRP is injected into the projection of intervertebral hernias, then it is possible to achieve complete restoration of the disc structures and eliminate pain symptoms.
A safe way to recover quickly
Olga Tyumina, Professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy, MD, explained to Izvestia that PRP technology stands for platelet-enriched plasma and is quite simple.
— The proposal to use fighters for treatment, I think, is correct, — she clarified. — The first positive property of PRP is safety, because it is one's own blood, from which platelet—enriched plasma is released. And secondly, it can be obtained quickly, it does not require any long time, that is, it takes an hour.

PRP technology really triggers the body's natural regeneration abilities, Albert Rizvanov, head of the Center of Excellence "Personalized Medicine" of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, confirmed to Izvestia.
— Where it was introduced, tissue repair is accelerated in that place, so it can be used in a variety of fields — from cosmetology to traumatology, orthopedics. Of course, it can also be used in military medicine, because the preparation of plasma saturated with platelets can be carried out with a minimum set of equipment. In fact, only a small centrifuge is required, which is available in any hematology laboratory, the scientist is sure.
Recovery from traumatic effects on joints takes time, and in order to reduce it, PRP technology can be used. This was told to Izvestia by the ex-head of the medical service of the Baltic Fleet, Colonel Nikolai Karpun.

— It promotes tissue regeneration due to biologically active substances in the body, — he noted. — It is not instantaneous, the course usually takes at least two to five procedures with an interval of 7-14 days. This is necessary in order for the plasma that is injected to work out the necessary regeneration process. There is no point in entering every day. And after injuries, recovery periods also take quite a long time. And if you use PRP, the joint will be more preserved and functional after recovery. If this is not done, it will lead to arthrosis, impaired joint function and motor activity.
"My husband went on his own, so I decided to help people like him"
Cortexil PRP technology has been developed for eight years by surgeon Yuri Bashkatov. Then he turned to Svetlana Koladeychik as a specialist in the field of plasma therapy, and together they began to implement it, improve it and gain clinical experience. It was only five years ago that the company entered the market.
— There were analogues, but not quite perfect and not Russian. We have completely replaced all imports and produce our equipment near Moscow. It is very competitive in price, that is, it is a very low price segment," said the CEO of the company.

The idea to treat military personnel with PRP came to Svetlana Mikhailovna when her husband went on his own.
— I came to the Military Medical Academy to talk about technology, saw the wounded with large wounds that did not heal for a long time and decided to immediately give the first injections. And then she began to regularly carry out procedures on her own initiative. Fortunately, I managed to speed up the recovery of the fighters, which made it possible to quickly send the wounded for further treatment," she noted.
Currently, Regeneration PRO plans to install equipment in rehabilitation centers for the wounded and help them solve problems with hernias, protrusions and improve the condition of postoperative and burn wounds.
