We owe the victory in the Great Patriotic War not only to the courage of soldiers, partisans and home front workers. The equipment that entered the battlefield played a huge role. Powerful, reliable and unpretentious weapons, created in huge numbers by the USSR military-industrial complex, helped our people defeat the most dangerous enemy.

Today, the legendary models of Soviet fighters, tanks, artillery, and small arms have been replaced by worthy descendants. During these holidays, we will show the connection of times, tell you about the weapons of the past and present, about the achievements of the domestic "defense industry" then and now.

The 46-ton ISU-152 self-propelled artillery unit was capable of neutralizing even the largest enemy "predators" of the Second World War – the Tiger and Panther. For this, the Red Army nicknamed the car "St. John's Wort", and the Germans called it a "Can opener".

The ISU-152 was also an extremely effective technique for urban combat. They were actively used at the final stage of the war. The interaction of self-propelled guns with infantry made it possible to successfully storm European settlements. The ISU-152 became a reliable support for the advancing units, protecting them from enemy tanks and pillboxes. One hit by a self-propelled shell into a medium-sized building eliminated all the opponents in it. The ISU-152, produced in an amount of more than 2,800 vehicles, became the most massive ACS in history.

The Msta-S is our contemporary with a 152 mm cannon. As part of the project #Fighting Monsters, she received the image of a ferocious boar. The machine is used in the SVO zone to work on closed firing positions and enemy manpower. The self-propelled gun is equipped with an upgraded digital automated guidance and fire control system.

"Msta-S" can quickly strike after detecting a target using UAVs or other reconnaissance means, as well as work in simultaneous fire raid mode – hit a target from one gun with five shells at the same time and quickly leave the position. Msta-S is capable of using high-precision correctable ammunition, for example, Krasnopol shells, which have already proven themselves during its operation. Based on the experience of using Msta-S in combat, it is constantly improving.
