A new word in military medicine
The ground-based medical robotic complexes NRMT and NMRTK-1, which were presented to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on April 17, are designed to evacuate the wounded from the combat zone. Thanks to them, the fighter is protected from bullets and shrapnel. In an open form, the complex can transport more than one person, military expert Dmitry Kornev told Izvestia.

Shoigu also presented a multifunctional robotic BUGGY complex. According to the expert, this is a cross-country transport platform for the evacuation of the wounded from the combat zone. He has no protection, but he has a higher speed and the ability to go to hard-to-reach places.
The head of the Russian military department noted that the presented promising ground-based medical robotic complex is in great demand for solving problems in the area of its implementation, and set the task for developers to direct efforts to its early completion, optimization and mass production.

— Such vehicles should be delivered to the troops as soon as possible and should be as cheap as possible. They are incredibly expected. They should leave for the group in the next few days and start working. There is nothing more precious than human life. We need to ensure the evacuation of the wounded from the front line today. Do it as safely as possible, as quickly as possible. We need to try the car at the front and launch it into series immediately," the Defense Minister stressed.

In addition, the head of the military department was presented with the ground—based complex "Power of Siberia 1" - a universal robotic vehicle. It can be used as a platform for the installation of weapons: machine guns, automatic grenade launchers and other combat systems. In the sanitary version, it can take the wounded from the battlefield, in the transport version, it can carry goods, Dmitry Kornev said.
Sergei Shoigu also inspected a robotic wheeled platform for the placement of anti-tank guided missiles. Up to four containers with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) can be installed on a special launcher. The likely combat equipment is a Cornet—type ATGM, Dmitry Kornev suggested. The control system allows the robot to navigate the terrain and detect enemy armored target objects.

In total, the Minister of Defense was presented with more than 30 robotic samples of military equipment.
Shoigu also heard reports from deputies and heads of the central military administration bodies of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which talked about the development of a promising wearable artillery fire control automation system. It will allow to multiply the speed of transmission of target designations to artillery calculations.
After checking the implementation of the instructions for the development of robotic complexes and advanced weapons systems, the head of the military department instructed to simplify the procedure for their acceptance into service as much as possible, if they have been tested in the area of their defense.
Robots save lives
Robotic complexes are extremely necessary to support our fighters, who are at the very forefront, military expert Yuri Lyamin told Izvestia.
— In conditions of the active influence of enemy drones, active mining and the like, it is difficult to use machines controlled by people, — he noted. — In particular, to deliver cargo directly to the front line, to clear paths, to deliver the wounded to the rear. Therefore, in order to facilitate the service of our soldiers, that is, to reduce losses, it is necessary to saturate the troops with robotic equipment so that it delivers ammunition and so on, and if someone hits it and it explodes, none of the people died.

Such developments will never be superfluous, military expert Gennady Alekhine told Izvestia.
— At the end of March, robotic platforms with AGS-17 were already used near Avdiivka — this is an automatic grenade launcher. And they worked effectively," he recalled. — Robots are the future, but they are already being tested. I think they will only benefit one sector of the front or another, depending on the situation. What can I hide that everyone was very skeptical, especially before the start of their own, about drones. But as the fighting has shown, they play a huge role.
The expert stressed that now the situation on the line of contact requires simplification of the procedure for accepting promising weapons. It is necessary to remove bureaucratic delays and completely switch to military tracks, Gennady Alekhine believes.
