Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation, and Vadim Badekha, General Director of Rostec United Engine Corporation, discussed the prospects of domestic aviation engine building during a working visit to the Salyut production complex.

During the visit to the enterprise, Denis Manturov assessed the progress of the aircraft engine production program and plans to increase production capacity. The Deputy Prime Minister inspected the workshops where aircraft engines are assembled, in particular AI-222-25 turbojet engines for training and light aircraft. In addition, he got acquainted with the production of parts and assembly units of TV7-117 engines for helicopters and regional aircraft, as well as new PD-14, PD-8 and PD-35 engines.

"Today, engine building is a system–forming industry for our country. In recent years, the UEC has shown rapid growth in the production of products supplied under state defense orders and civilian products necessary to solve the most important socio-economic tasks. UEC products are in demand and are important for ensuring the country's military, transport, and energy security. Of course, the joint work of the state and business, which is aimed at the development of the aviation industry and related industries, plays an important role here. We need to develop entire sub-sectors of components, in particular electronics, bearings, as well as other important elements and materials. It is also necessary to increase production and testing capacities, and additionally attract employees of various specialties. At the moment, this process has been launched, hard work is underway, which is already beginning to bear fruit. These tasks are also in the focus of attention of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia," Denis Manturov said.

This year, the construction of a new production complex began on the territory of the Salyut production complex in Moscow, which will become one of the largest centers of engine building in the country. It will unite under one roof two enterprises of the United Engine Corporation – MMP named after V.V. Chernyshev and the Salyut production complex, as well as the Center for Additive Technologies of Rostec State Corporation. Next year, it is planned to complete construction work on the main new buildings and start equipping them with equipment.

"The construction of an industrial complex in Moscow is a large–scale and significant project. Its implementation will increase the volume of production of aircraft engine parts and will contribute to the task of building up the Russian aviation fleet. The volume of investments in the creation of an industrial complex will amount to about 35 billion rubles," said Sergey Chemezov.

The Salyut production complex of the United Engine Corporation specializes in the development, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft engines. The company has the capabilities to carry out a full production cycle – from procurement to assembly of aircraft engines, has a modern experimental base and design departments.

One of the advanced scientific and technical projects in the field of digitalization of the industry has been implemented on the Salyut PC - a digital twin of an aircraft engine has been created. The new technology allows us to confirm and develop the key characteristics of the engine – life, reliability and maintainability, as well as reduce the cost of its manufacture and maintenance.

In addition, to fulfill the tasks of the Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Air Transport Industry until 2030, the company is actively digitalizing production facilities - more than 1,000 units of key production equipment have already been connected to the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) system. This allows you to monitor and analyze the operation of machines in real time and improve the efficiency of using existing reserves.
