MO: preemptive actions thwarted an attempt to break through the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the Belgorod region
In the border regions of the Russian Federation, there are battles with saboteurs fighting on the side of Ukraine again. A new attempt to break into the territory of the Russian Federation was made by the formations that attacked the Russian regions two days earlier. Fighting is reported in the area of the village of Spodaryushino in the Belgorod region and Tetkino in the Kursk region. In addition, the Russian border area has been shelled today. In Belgorod, two people died due to the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) again tried to invade the border regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by local authorities and Russian military commanders.
"The enemy continues to send personnel and equipment to the borders of the Kursk and Belgorod regions, striking at the territory of the Russian Federation with the help of long-range weapons," the Telegram channel WarGonzo (Semyon Pegov) said in a statement.
According to Pegov, as well as military commander Alexander Kotz and Telegram news channels, the battle began near the village of Spodaryushino in the Belgorod region and in the Tetkino area of the Kursk region.
Shot writes that Spodaryushino was attacked by a group of 30 people. At the same time, according to the Telegram channel, 12 saboteurs and two Bradley cars have already been destroyed. Also, according to Kotsa, attempts are being made to break through with armored vehicles near the settlement of Kozinki.
Roman Starovoit, the governor of the Kursk Region, also confirmed the information about the attacks of the DRG.
"Ukrainian terrorists do not give up trying to enter our territory with their DRG near the village of Tetkino. But the fighters of the Border Guard Service of the FSB of Russia and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation did not and will not allow them to do this," Starovoit wrote .
Together with the military and FSB officers, the attack of the DRG was repelled by employees of the Rosgvardiya.
The Russian Defense Ministry said it had thwarted an attempt to break through the Russian border in the area of Spodaryushino with "proactive actions."
Footage has appeared on social networks showing the movement of military equipment and dead people in uniform from a drone. Later, the Russian Defense Ministry published a video of the fighting in the Belgorod region.
Before the attack, the Telegram channels of armed formations that are fighting on the side of Ukraine and previously penetrated the territory of the Russian Federation - the "Russian Volunteer Corps" (recognized in the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization) (RDK), the legion "Freedom of Russia" (the organization is banned in Russia) (recognized in the Russian Federation as terrorist organizations) and the "Siberian Battalion" - the same message appeared to residents of the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions, urging them to go to shelters.
Later, the "legionnaires" published a joint appeal to the governors of the Kursk and Belgorod regions calling for the evacuation of civilians from their regions. The Freedom of Russia Legion also claimed to have destroyed two ammunition depots in Tetkino. The information about this has not been confirmed in any way.
Massive shelling
The border regions were also shelled on March 14, with particularly strong arrivals in the Belgorod region. Two civilians, a man and a woman, were killed in Belgorod within a few hours of each other. One of the missiles hit a moving car at the entrance to the city, the passers-by managed to film the burning car, the video was widely distributed on social networks.
"Mommy, here in front of me, the car just exploded!", the tractor driver who filmed the arrival commented emotionally on what he saw.
When hitting a car at the entrance to Belgorod, 48-year-old tax officer Valery B. was killed. According to Shot, he was driving to work in the car, and his wife and son were driving behind him in the second car, they managed to slow down and were not injured.
The car of the second victim of the shelling, a woman, flew into a ditch as a result of the explosion, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
Nine people were injured as a result of the shelling of Belgorod.
The mayor of the city, Valentin Demidov, said that as a result of the APU attack, 25 cars and 11 houses were damaged.
In the Suburban Settlement of the Kursk region, as a result of shelling, a fire broke out at one of the infrastructure facilities, Governor Starovoit said.
One household was damaged and power supply was partially disrupted in the village of Khinel in the Bryansk region, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said.
It follows from the reports of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 12 UAVs over the territory of the Belgorod region, three over Kursk. Eight rockets were also destroyed over the Belgorod region.
The attack on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant
The territory of the Zaporizhia NPP was also hit. The press service of the station reported that Ukrainian servicemen dropped a shell-less explosive device from a drone five meters from the fence, behind which there are tanks with diesel fuel of the Zaporizhia NPP.
"If they got into the tanks, it could lead to sad consequences," the message says. There were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack.
A video with comments by the director of the NPP Yuri Chernichuk is attached to the post on the Telegram channel of the Zaporizhia NPP.
"What makes this area remarkable," says Chernichuk, standing by a small crater left after the explosion. - Behind my back there is a basic warehouse of diesel fuel, which is used, among other things, for the operation of our emergency diesel generators. A very sensitive location. The destruction of these tanks and fuel leakage can lead, in addition to fire, to a significant reduction in diesel fuel reserves. Accordingly, emergency preparedness will be reduced by an order of magnitude."
Chernichuk said that at the station they tend to consider the attack as a warning: "Look, we'll arrange a kuzkin mother for you here if anything happens."
