Putin was shown T-72B3M and T-90M tanks ready to be sent to the troops at UVZ
NIZHNY TAGIL, February 15 — RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin was shown modern tanks ready to be sent to the army during a visit to the Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny Tagil.
The President arrived in the Sverdlovsk region on Thursday. At UVZ, he got acquainted with the production process of the equipment. In particular, the head of state was shown the T-72BZM and T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks ready to be sent to the troops.
At the same time, the work in the workshop did not stop, in particular, the installation of systems and equipment continued. The President welcomed the workers. They asked to take a photo together, and Putin agreed.
Among other things, the head of state inspected the site of preparation of equipment for running and firing tests. Earlier, he visited another, new workshop of Uralvagonzavod, where transmissions are manufactured.
During the conversation with the workers, the president noted that there are urgent tasks in the special operation zone, but the civil agenda for defense industry enterprises also remains large. He expressed confidence that the domestic military-industrial complex has a lot of work ahead. In particular, it is necessary to meet all current needs and replenish strategic reserves.
The Head of State also thanked the employees of Uralvagonzavod for the production of high-quality equipment used in the military district and for their work in the combat zone.
"I want to thank you, as they say in such cases, on my own behalf, from our guys who use your technique. She deserves the best epithets. Both the T-72 upgraded and the T-90M "Breakthrough". I know that your brigades are also traveling to the special military operation zone, working there almost on the line of contact, helping our servicemen, restoring equipment. It's great," Putin said.
As noted in the Kremlin materials, the assembly shop is the pride of Uralvagonzavod. It was created during the Great Patriotic War. This is the only tank conveyor in the country where promising products are being created, armored vehicles are being modernized and state defense orders are being executed. Over the entire history of the company, more than 100 thousand pieces of special equipment have come off the assembly line.
The T-72 tanks produced many years ago (model — T-72B3M) are undergoing major repairs and are becoming modern. Armored vehicles are powerful, maneuverable, well-armed and protected, in no way inferior to their foreign counterparts.
The T-90M "Breakthrough" is the most advanced machine in the T-90 family. This tank is most adapted to action in modern combat conditions, including due to the presence of all-angle protection and a modern day-to-day highly automated fire control system. In terms of combat effectiveness, the T-90M tank significantly surpasses its predecessor, the T—90, but at the same time retains its advantages. We are talking about exceptional reliability and minimal maintenance during operation.
Nizhny Tagil Uralvagonzavod is a unique scientific and production complex, the largest in the world in terms of production volumes and technological area. The UVZ brand has become a symbol of Nizhny Tagil, the industrial Urals and the Russian tank industry. Uralvagonzavod's military equipment is in service in about 80 countries.
