The SNA2024 Surface Naval Forces Symposium continues in the United States, where developers present their technological innovations. Among other novelties, a promising launcher for the Mk is presented.41 Adaptable Deck Launcher from BAE Systems.
There is reportedly already a contract with the US Navy for these launchers. And the new generation PU will eventually replace the existing options.
The presented version consists of four cells for missiles. Although there are other options, including an 8-cell one.
The Mk.41 Adaptive Deck Launcher is designated as universal. In particular, it can be used to launch Tomahawk missiles. They can also be used as launchers for anti-aircraft guided missiles.
The perspective PU differs in that it extends on the deck at an angle above the surface. Accordingly, this makes its operation easier in comparison with the existing vertical version. Missile cells can be loaded with weapons of destruction in a horizontal version.
During the symposium, it was noted that the demonstrated launcher, in fact, is not something fundamentally new. It was tested back in the 1990s, but then the process of its adoption stalled. Now, when the American military-industrial lobby has reached a special level of weapons promotion, the US Navy has shown interest in this version of the launcher.

As you can see, the launchers are located at an angle to the sides of the warship.
The very fact that NATO companies have been working for a long time on the unification of launchers capable of receiving both anti-aircraft and attack missiles once again proves Russia's correctness when the military and political leadership of our country commented on the creation by the Americans of missile defense positional areas in Poland and Romania. Not only anti-missiles, but also strike-type missiles aimed at the Russian Federation can be loaded into PU cells.
