The Kenyan Air Force lost another Mi-171E helicopter in an aviation incident: the car crashed on Monday in Buna, Vajir District. The footage of his fall was captured by eyewitnesses.

According to the statement of the country's military department, the helicopter was carrying out duties for the delivery of humanitarian aid when it crashed.

However, this is not the first time that the Kenyan Air Force has lost the Mi-171E helicopter. In 2019, the Mi-171E training helicopter crashed, as a result of which two trainees were killed and several were injured. The car was performing a planned training flight when it had a technical malfunction.

As a result of the crash of the Mi-171E on Monday, the Kenyan Air Force now has only one surviving helicopter of this type. The military department faced problems in the maintenance and modernization of its fleet of rotorcraft, which consists of various models such as Puma, Mi-17, Huey UH-1H, AS550C3, AW139, AS350, MD530F and C-27J. As a result, accidents have become a frequent occurrence.
