MOSCOW, October 11. /tass/. The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation (part of the Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ) of the Rostec State Corporation) supplied the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation with a batch of T-90M "Breakthrough" and T72B3M tanks with additional protection. This was reported in the press service of the UVZ on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the enterprise.
"On the eve of its birthday, Uralvagonzavod handed over another echelon with armored vehicles to the troops. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation received new T-90M "Breakthrough" from tank builders, as well as T-72B3M with additional protection. The issues of ensuring the needs of the Russian Armed Forces in reliable and highly efficient equipment can be solved in a timely manner thanks to the work of the coordinating council under the government of the Russian Federation," they said.
As noted in the UVZ, the tanks were loaded for the first time on a platform car 13-192-01, developed by the Ural Design Bureau of Car Building (part of the UVZ is part of Rostec) and manufactured at Uralvagonzavod. This platform is the main product of rolling stock in the UVZ order portfolio. It is universal and designed for the transportation of long, piece, packaged and bulk cargo, timber and metal structures. It was primarily developed for the transportation of heavy tracked and wheeled military equipment and can accept vehicles weighing up to 65 tons.
According to Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the T-72B3M and T-90 are the most popular tanks and have proven themselves well in the area of the SVO. "I also want to note the work of the designers and engineers of the enterprise, who continue to improve armored vehicles taking into account the experience of its combat use. It is this work that helps our servicemen to successfully carry out all the tasks assigned to them," the UVZ press service quoted him as saying.
The T-90M "Breakthrough" tank is the most advanced machine in the T-90 family, as well as the most adapted to action in modern combat conditions, including due to the presence of all-course protection, a modern all-day highly automated fire control system and the implementation of measures to increase survivability. The T-72B3M is an upgraded version of the T-72B3 tank, which received a new aiming system with a digital display, as well as a rear-view television camera. The armor of the combat vehicle is reinforced with on-board screens with dynamic protection modules "Relict".
Uralvagonzavod is the only manufacturer of tanks for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The NPC enterprises are upgrading the T-72 and T-80 tanks, producing the T-90 tank (with modifications). In 2015, Uralvagonzavod presented the T-14 tank and the T-15 BMP on the latest Armata tracked platform (an experimental batch of T-14 was sent to the troops in 2021). Uralvagonzavod traces its history back to October 11, 1936 - the day when the first car came off the assembly line of the enterprise.
