Repair of 37 military-industrial complex enterprises
The Ukrainian authorities are studying the possibility of restoring the operability of 37 damaged enterprises of the country's military-industrial complex (MIC), Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said at the Defense Industries Forum (DFNC1) in Kiev.:
According to the Prime Minister, at the same time Kiev cooperates with partners. With whom exactly, he did not specify.
Shmygal also spoke about the plans of the Cabinet of Ministers to increase the volume of expenditures on the preparation of military products seven times in 2024. At the same time, a record deficit of about $42 billion has already been laid down in the draft budget for next year.
International Military Cluster in Ukraine
As the Ukrainian Prime Minister noted, the authorities are working on the idea of creating a closed cycle of production of weapons, military equipment, ammunition and their elements. The country has already established and is developing joint enterprises and service centers with partner countries. The military-industrial complex of Ukraine is gradually integrating into the industrial environment of the Western allies.
Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said at the forum on September 30 that the country had started producing 155 mm caliber shells, which is the NATO standard. In addition, the production of marine drones and long-range drones has been established.
Zelensky also informed about plans to deploy a large-scale international cluster for the production of weapons and military equipment in the country.
The General director of the Turkish company Bayraktar, Haluk Bayraktar, who was also present at the event, spoke about his intention to invest about $ 100 million in the construction of a plant for the production of drones in Ukraine. The German defense concern Rheinmetall has already leased tank factories in Ukraine and has been repairing Leopard tanks in the country since the end of August.
Goals of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov earlier this week reported the defeat of the production site of Ukrainian missiles by the Russian military. Because of this, part of their production was moved outside the country.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly stressed that the Russian Armed Forces are striking exclusively at the military infrastructure of Ukraine.
So, in August, the Russian Defense Ministry was informed about the infliction of large-scale damage to the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. Then the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said that the enemy had lost an ammunition depot in the Zaporozhye region, as well as dozens of drones, four SCALP cruise missiles, two Hurricane multiple rocket launchers, and the M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery.
Over the past week, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation deprived the AFU of the control point of the Foreign Legion formation, two large arsenals with weapons and ammunition, the defense ministry reported. Also, the Russian military violated the supply of foreign-made weapons to Ukrainian troops operating in the Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions.
