New photos of the American strategic bomber B-21 Raider, which is considered the most advanced aircraft of the US Air Force (Air Force), were shown during the conference of the Association of the US Air and Space Forces. This is written by The Drive.
Two new images were shown during a speech by the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, Charles Brown. They show the plane against the background of plant 42 in Palmdale, California. This allows us to judge the size of the bomber.
It is noted that the pictures were taken on July 31 — a few days after the first launch of the pre-production B-21. "We are still hoping for the first flight this year," US Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall said on the sidelines of the conference.
The aircraft in the photos received the serial number 0001 and the marking of the Edwards Air Force Base. The publication noted that the windows of the crew cabin of unusual shape limit visibility.
In March, the authors of The Drive called the deeply recessed air intakes in the body of the aircraft the most impressive feature of the B-21.
Northrop Grumman introduced the low-profile B-21 Raider strategic bomber in December 2022 at Plant 42.
