The United States plans to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of Great Britain 15 years after its withdrawal, the US Air Force is modernizing the British Royal Air Force Lakenheath air base in the English county of Suffolk, where special warehouses will be located. The British press writes about it.

American nuclear weapons were located on the territory of the United Kingdom until 2008, after which they were withdrawn due to "reducing the risk of nuclear war." Now, 15 years later, nuclear weapons are returning to Britain as a response to the deployment of Russian TNW in Belarus. However, the Pentagon does not confirm these plans, but it does not refute them either.

(...) According to our position, we do not disclose details about the American nuclear forces, including their basing. The US policy is not to confirm, but also not to refute the facts of the presence or absence of nuclear weapons in any places

- said the official representative of the US Department of Defense Sabrina Singh.

The Lakenheath Royal Air Force Airbase has been used by the US Air Force for quite a long time, the 48th Fighter Wing of the US Air Force is based on it, consisting of 492, 493, 494 and 495 squadrons using the F-15E Strike Eagle. At the end of this year, two F-15 squadrons will be replaced by F-35s, which are certified carriers of nuclear weapons, including B61-12 bombs.
