The experience of the special operation made it possible to perfect existing models of weapons and create new ones that will be in demand on the global market. This was reported by Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky on August 20.
It is noted that thousands of specialists from 76 countries attended the international military-technical forum "Army-2023". Within the framework of the forum, almost 30 thousand samples of Russian weapons were presented.
As the correspondent pointed out, the self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) "Malva", thanks to the wheeled chassis, can instantly escape from enemy fire and quickly transfer equipment. On the way, the gun develops a speed of up to 80 km/h. For the first time in the Russian army, such a howitzer was placed on a wheeled chassis.
Also, a new Kalashnikov assault rifle was presented as part of the "Army-2023". The export version of the AK-19 has a shortened barrel, a silencer and, most importantly, a NATO caliber of 5.56 by 45. Also, for the first time, an anti-aircraft artillery complex based on the BTR-82 was shown. This machine is capable of instantly detecting and destroying small aerial targets, in particular unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Burundi's Defense Minister Alain Triber Mutabazi stressed that the delegation was very impressed by the drones and the exhibition as a whole. In this regard, he expressed a desire to cooperate more closely with Russia and purchase new equipment.
According to the correspondent, during the special operation, the Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) was rebuilt, military factories are working around the clock. Engineers are upgrading samples.
As a result, the tanks received a new infrared camouflage, factory "birdhouses" against drones and electronic warfare antennas.
"We install domes on the tank, each dome at a certain frequency. It provides protection against FPV drone raids," said Denis Oslomenko, General Director of the PPSH Laboratory.
In addition, the correspondent reported that the forum presents a collection of captured weapons obtained during the special operation. In particular, on the "Army-2023" you can see HMMWV (Humvee), Javelin, M-777 howitzer, French wheeled tank AMX, American armored personnel carrier M-113 in the export version and the Australian armored car Bushmaster.
