Opening the meeting, the Minister of Defense informed the participants about the situation in the area of the special military operation.
According to Army General Sergei Shoigu, the Combined Group of Troops continues to conduct active combat operations in all directions, focusing its main efforts on weakening the enemy's combat capabilities.
"The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is desperately throwing new forces to storm our positions. Thanks to a well-built defense, skillful organization of the fire system, professional actions, endurance and perseverance of Russian servicemen, the enemy's advance is not allowed," the Defense Minister said.
The head of the military department also added that a large-scale attempt by Ukrainian troops to break through the defenses of Russian troops was thwarted in the Orekhovsky direction. At the same time, the units of the 810th Marine Brigade and the 71st Motorized Rifle Regiment showed perseverance and dedication. Sergei Shoigu thanked all the servicemen who held the defense in this direction.
In just two days - on July 26 and 27 - more than 400 Ukrainian servicemen, 31 tanks, including three German Leopard, two French, and 32 armored fighting vehicles were destroyed in the area of the settlement of Workino. A total of 63 armored vehicles.
Using maneuver, counterattacks and counterattacks, Russian formations and military units liberated the settlements of Kovalevka and Sergeyevka in the Krasnolimansky direction from the Nazis, as well as the Molchanovka railway station in the Kupyansk direction.
"The 15th Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 234th Airborne Assault Regiment especially distinguished themselves. They also acted actively, acted maneuverably. And as a result, we have achieved success," said Army General Sergei Shoigu.
The 238th Artillery Brigade, the 31st Engineer-Sapper Regiment, and the 23rd Fighter Aviation regiments are also acting bravely.
"Over the past month, as a result of the successful actions of our troops, enemy losses amounted to more than 20,800 servicemen, to be precise, 20,824 people and 2,227 units of various weapons, including 10 Leopard tanks, 11 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 40 American M777 artillery systems and 50 self-propelled artillery units from the UK, USA, Germany, France and Poland," the head of the Russian military department announced the data.
Obviously, the Russian Defense Minister noted that the supplied Western weapons do not lead to success on the battlefield, but only prolong the military conflict.
Against the backdrop of the unsuccessful so-called "counteroffensive", the Kiev regime, with the support of Western sponsors, focused on carrying out terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure in cities and towns of the Russian Federation.
Taking into account the current situation, additional measures have been taken to increase protection against attacks from the air and sea.
The intensity of attacks on Ukrainian military facilities, including those providing these terrorist attacks, has increased significantly.
"I thank all the personnel participating in the special military operation for their service, courage, heroism. If earlier we talked about individual feats, today we have dozens and hundreds of worthy servicemen, soldiers, officers, sergeants who not only honorably perform their duty, but do it professionally. The guys really show the highest examples of courage, heroism and, once again, professionalism," Sergei Shoigu added.

"Our military sailors, whose professional holiday we celebrated on July 30, are actively participating in the operation in Ukraine," the head of the military department continued.
On the day of the Navy, ship parades were held in Baltiysk, Vladivostok, Kaspiysk, Novorossiysk, Severomorsk, as well as the Syrian Tartus.
45 ships of various classes and 3,000 servicemen were involved in the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg. 19 foreign delegations arrived at the celebrations.
Important events were the opening of the Museum of Naval Glory in Kronstadt and the bas-relief in honor of the capture of Corfu by the Russian squadron under the command of Vice Admiral Fyodor Ushakov.
"We will continue the tradition of perpetuating the legendary pages of the history of the Russian Navy, preserving the memory of the valiant exploits of military sailors," the Defense Minister stressed.

Then Sergei Shoigu briefly summed up the results of recruitment to educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense.
This year, more than 15 thousand first-year students have been enrolled in military universities, and from September 1 they will start studying. Of those enrolled in universities, 1.5 thousand are participants in a special military operation, most have military awards.
The training of officers for the Armed Forces has been resumed on the basis of the Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School.
"The interest of young people in educational institutions of the Navy, Strategic Missile Forces and flight universities of the Aerospace Forces has grown significantly. In other universities, we still have the same high competition as before," the Defense Minister noted.
In pre-university military educational institutions, the competition was up to 11 people per place.
"This year the Irkutsk Suvorov School starts its work. I would like to wish the officers, cadets, and pupils success in their studies and perseverance in mastering new knowledge. And here I want to draw attention to those who are engaged in education, training, we must make the most of the experience of those who have proved themselves in a special military operation and, of course, who have something to pass on," said Army General Sergei Shoigu.

In continuation of the meeting, the head of the military department spoke about the most significant events of the upcoming month.
The International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY-2023" opens on August 14. Almost 1.5 thousand enterprises will present about 28 thousand samples of military and dual-use products. The heads of 108 defense departments are invited to the forum.
Domestic military-technical developments that have been tested in a real combat situation will be widely presented.
The scientific and business program includes more than 260 events to discuss topical aspects of the development of the military-industrial complex, military and military-technical cooperation.
The Ministry of Defense plans to conclude contracts totaling over 433 billion rubles.
The XI Moscow Conference on International Security will be held simultaneously with the forum. Its program includes issues of global stability in the conditions of the formation of a multipolar world, the interaction of defense departments of different countries, as well as military aspects of regional security in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
Independent experts, including Western ones, will be able to discuss acute issues on the agenda in the format of the discussion club "United World - Common Security".
Round tables on special military operations will be held at the forum.
Also in August, the second International Anti-Fascist Congress will be held on the territory of Belarus and at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center in Kubinka near Moscow.
In addition to the plenary session, a scientific and practical conference "Nazism in Ukraine: a view through the prism of a special military operation" is planned to be held in the work of the sections.

Turning to the thematic part of the conference call, the Minister of Defense proposed to discuss the construction of the 12700 Alexandrite project minesweepers.
These new ships solve the tasks of mine defense of the near sea zone. They are equipped with the latest means of searching for and destroying mines, sonar stations, a mine contour, and robotic complexes.
"Today we will hear how the production schedule of vessels of this type is being carried out," Sergei Shoigu said.
The second issue on the agenda of the meeting concerned the construction of small rocket ships of the project 22800 "Karakurt".
These ships are capable, operating in the near sea zone, of delivering high-precision missile strikes against critical objects on land and enemy ships at sea.
In July, the Black Sea Fleet was replenished with a serial ship of this project "Cyclone".
"Three ships are planned to be accepted into the Navy by the end of this year. Two more are to be put into operation in 2024. We will discuss the timing of the construction of ships of this project," concluded the head of the military department.
