According to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on June 20, 2023, a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was held at the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation under the leadership of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu.
Opening the meeting, the head of the military department informed the leadership of the Armed Forces, representatives of state authorities and public organizations about the progress of the special military operation.

As the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation noted, Ukrainian troops continue to attempt offensive actions in the South Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Donetsk directions. At the same time, the Kiev regime uses a large number of Western weapons and elite formations, whose personnel were trained by NATO specialists.
"Since June 4, the AFU has launched 263 attacks on the positions of Russian troops. Thanks to the competent and selfless actions of our units, all of them were repulsed, the enemy did not achieve the goals," Sergei Shoigu said.
He also said that the leadership of the armed forces of Ukraine plans to strike the territory of the Russian Federation with Haimars and Storm Shadow missiles.
"The use of these missiles outside the zone of a special military operation will mean a full-fledged involvement of the United States and Great Britain in the conflict and will entail immediate strikes on decision-making centers on the territory of Ukraine," said Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
In the thematic part of the Board meeting, the issue of preparation for the International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY-2023", which will be held from August 14 to 20, was considered first.
"Last year, fifteen hundred enterprises and organizations presented 28 thousand samples of military and dual-use products at the forum sites. State contracts worth 525 billion rubles were signed. 340 scientific and business events were held with the participation of twenty-one thousand specialists. The total number of visitors amounted to almost two million people," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu recalled the main results of ARMY-2022.
The Head of the Military Department informed the participants of the Board meeting about the main planned events of the Ministry of Defense "ARMY-2023", noting that to date 41 foreign countries have expressed a desire to send their delegations to the upcoming forum.
"A dynamic demonstration of the possibilities of export samples of military and dual-use products is planned for foreign guests, a day of military-technical cooperation will be held.
The main elements of advanced reconnaissance and firing artillery complexes will be demonstrated at the exhibition grounds.
Enterprises of the military-industrial complex and scientific organizations will share their experience, their best practices for improving the means of armed struggle, taking into account the experience of their use in a special military operation.
The Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade will prepare an exhibition "Diversification of the Russian military-industrial complex".
For the first time, the Ministry of Defense, together with the National Center for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, will launch a specialized exhibition of advanced achievements in the field of domestic IT technologies and artificial intelligence technologies.
It is planned to hold over three hundred scientific and business events on topical aspects of the development of the Armed Forces, the Russian military-industrial complex and international military-technical cooperation," the Russian Defense Minister said.
"The successful work of the forum will require coordinated actions of the military authorities and all interested structures. It is necessary to take security issues during this event under special control," Sergei Shoigu stressed.
During the meeting of the Board, the issue of training flight crews of military transport aviation was also discussed.
As noted by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, the volume of military aviation traffic is increasing annually.
"This is due to an increase in the number of combat training events, exercises, surprise inspections, as well as tasks within the framework of international military cooperation, including ensuring the actions of the Russian group in Syria and peacekeeping forces.
In addition, military transport aviation is involved in providing assistance to the regions of Russia and foreign countries in extinguishing forest fires and eliminating the consequences of natural disasters.
With the beginning of a special military operation in Ukraine, the intensity of military transport aviation flights has more than doubled. To date, AN-124 and IL-76 aircraft have carried out more than 10 thousand flights, transported two thousand three hundred pieces of equipment, more than three hundred thousand military personnel and one hundred sixty thousand tons of cargo.
The A-50 and IL-22 aircraft performed almost five thousand special sorties. The fleet of military transport aircraft is regularly updated, its number is increasing.
"In these conditions, it is necessary to continue improving the quality of tasks performed by military transport aviation, paying special attention to the training of flight crews," the Russian Defense Minister stressed.
