"Through thoughtlessness or malice, the White House, represented by Sullivan, approved the unleashing of a nuclear war with its consent to the use of American aviation against Crimea. The situation is as simple as two and two," Muradov told RIA Novosti on May 22.
He pointed out that the Black Sea Fleet with vital aviation for the state has been located in Sevastopol for 240 years. According to him, encroachment on one of the foundations of the strategic security of the Russian Federation legally obliges the country to use all available means to prevent its undermining.
"In order to guarantee the prevention of this vital threat, it will inevitably be necessary to destroy the import points of these deadly weapons that are critically dangerous to us," the official said.
According to him, such points are mainly airfields in Poland and Romania and conventional weapons will not be enough to destroy them. The Permanent Representative is sure that Washington is not interested in the fate of these countries.
Muradov added, however, that in such a scenario, the catastrophe will primarily affect Eastern Europe. However, he expressed hope that the memory of the Caribbean crisis will sober up NATO.
On the eve of the US President's national Security adviser Jake Sullivan said that Washington does not impose restrictions on the Kiev regime in the issue of Western weapons strikes on the Crimean peninsula. At the same time, he noted that the United States does not support Ukrainian attacks with the use of NATO weapons deep into Russia.
Earlier that day, US President Joe Biden, during the summit of the leaders of the G7 G7 countries in Hiroshima, announced the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, which includes ammunition for HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, portable Javelin anti-tank systems, as well as AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers.
At the same time, the day before, the adviser to the American president stressed that the supply of F-16 fighter jets and the training of the Ukrainian military in the management of equipment proceed from the postulate that attacks using combat aircraft on the territories of Russia are unacceptable. He clarified that Ukraine has consistently stated its readiness to follow these requirements.
Crimea became part of Russia in 2014 after a referendum in which the majority of residents of the peninsula voted for reunification with the Russian Federation. Kiev refuses to recognize the results of the vote and considers Crimea its territory. The leadership of the Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that the residents of the republic voted for reunification democratically and the question of the peninsula's ownership is finally closed.
Western countries have increased military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, amid the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
