These wishes include four main points:
1) The Maritime Service requires $ 45 million to develop a marine guidance system afloat, which will transmit information from a number of sensors to coastal and marine nodes in the absence of communication.
2) Conducting research and development work worth $49 million aimed at upgrading the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft, which serves as a command and administrative "defender" in naval aviation operations.
3) $186 million is needed for the planned commissioning of Zumwalt—class destroyers - warships on which hypersonic missiles will be placed.
4) The fourth item was called "purple". It has a classified nature.
In addition, the US Navy's wish list for next year includes a significant item of expenses for the restoration and modernization of facilities around the world in the amount of $ 550 million.
Defense News notes that these items are the wishes of the country's Navy, which were not included in the official budget request of the US president. The official request of the Navy for the 2024 fiscal year, according to the publication, amounted to $ 255.8 billion.
