A veteran of the Vostok battalion, a representative of the Cascade OBTF, Alexander Semenov, expressed a number of ideas on how to quickly increase the supply of drones to Russian troops in the special operation zone. He outlined his vision of the situation and proposals in his social media accounts.
The military expert drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian command is already forming UAV companies as part of each brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the future, it is planned to equip all units at the platoon level with drone operators.
At the same time, preference is given to using primarily compact FPV drones, relatively inexpensive and highly maneuverable. Saturation of UAVs of this type of the Ukrainian army was started in March last year with a pilot project implemented in the units of the National Guard of Ukraine "Omega".
Semenov notes that currently the APU has no shortage of UAV lungs. Moreover, in the upcoming offensive of the Ukrainian army, if it does take place, it is planned to use a whole swarm of UAVs.

The main merit in such a rapid increase in the procurement of drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consists in volunteer assistance. The leadership of Ukraine has abolished import duties and VAT on drones, which encourages their acquisition by individuals and businesses abroad.
The expert suggests not to shy away from adopting the positive experience of the enemy:
In addition, mass training of UAV operators, primarily FPV drones, should be organized on the basis of DOSAAF, public and volunteer organizations. In the Ministry of Defense, units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, all law enforcement agencies participating in the SVO, it is necessary to introduce full-time positions of drone operators and create separate special units of UAVs.
The Russian government should develop and implement a special program to promote the mass production of FPV drones as soon as possible, a military expert believes.
