The United States continues to talk more and more about the threat from China. This time, the head of the country's Navy, Carlos Del Toro, announced the strengthening of the Chinese military fleet, which poses a threat to the United States.
Del Toro said.
He also accused China of trying to violate the maritime sovereignty and economic well-being of US allies in different parts of the world. At the same time, high-ranking American officials, as always, forget about how many times they themselves violated the sovereignty of other countries.
According to Del Toro, in order to counter the Chinese threat, America needs to increase the fleet both in quantity and quality. The head of the US Navy noted that in the coming years, China's naval forces could reach 400 ships, compared with the current 340. And this is despite the fact that the American fleet has less than 300 ships.
According to the plan published last year, the US Navy intends to reach the figure of 350 ships by 2045, which is still much less than the projected increase in China's fleet.
At the same time, it is noted that for a certain period of time, the US fleet will even decrease due to the decommissioning of old ships and support vessels.
One of the reasons for this lag, Del Toro called the lack of production capacity in the country. According to him, there are more shipyards in China for the construction of naval vessels and some of them have more capacity than American ones.
In addition, a big problem is the shortage of skilled labor at these shipyards, the head of the US Navy believes. In this regard, China has no difficulties, since it is free from all kinds of rules that tie the hands of Americans, the official said. It is not reported what "rules binding hands" are in question.
Del Toro still found the advantage of the American fleet over the Chinese. In his opinion, this advantage is American shipbuilders and sailors who are superior to Chinese in intellectual terms, which makes the US navy "more modern, more combat-ready and more deadly" than China's.
