/tass/. The European Parliament called for studying the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Western combat aircraft and long-range missiles. This is stated in the resolution adopted on Thursday at a special session of the European Parliament, timed to coincide with the EU-Ukraine summit on February 3 in Kiev.
"The European Parliament welcomes the decisions of a number of EU countries, as well as the United States, Great Britain and Canada to provide Ukraine with main battle tanks, insists that the training of their crews begin immediately, and also calls for considering the possibility of supplying Western combat aircraft and long-range missiles," the document says.
The resolutions of the EP are advisory in nature and are not binding on the institutions of the European Union.
