TSAMTO, January 10. On January 10, the first thematic conference call with the leadership of the Armed Forces was held at the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation under the leadership of the head of the military department, Army General Sergei Shoigu.
Opening the meeting, the Minister of Defense traditionally thanked all military personnel – both participants in a special military operation and those who were on duty during the holidays, served as part of duty shifts and daily outfits, performed tasks in military hospitals, participated in the restoration of infrastructure in the liberated territories.
Sergei Shoigu reminded the audience that in December, at an expanded meeting of the Board, the results of the activities of the Armed Forces over the past year were summed up and tasks for the next period were defined.
"Taking into account the experience of a special military operation, the Supreme Commander–in-Chief has set us a number of priority tasks," the Defense Minister continued. "The main one is to take comprehensive measures for the qualitative renewal of the Armed Forces and increase their combat capabilities."
To do this, as the head of the military department noted, it is necessary to constantly analyze and systematize the experience of the actions of Russian groups of troops in Ukraine and Syria, on its basis to draw up training programs for personnel and plans for the supply of military equipment.
"The practice received by our troops should become the basis for improving combat training," Sergei Shoigu added.
The Defense Minister also said that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will continue to develop the nuclear triad and maintain its combat readiness, since the nuclear shield has been and remains the main guarantor of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.
In addition, the combat capabilities of the Aerospace Forces will increase - both in terms of the work of fighters and bombers in the area of operation of modern air defense systems, and in terms of improving unmanned aerial vehicles.
"Our immediate plans are to expand the arsenals of modern strike weapons," the head of the military department said.
An equally important task, according to Sergei Shoigu, is to refine the equipment and tactical equipment of the personnel to the highest level as soon as possible.
"Everything a fighter needs must be modern, convenient and reliable," the Defense Minister stressed. – We need to improve the management and communication system. To this end, we will actively use artificial intelligence technologies."
In addition, in the near future, as Sergei Shoigu noted, it is necessary to modernize the work of military commissariats – to digitalize databases, establish interaction with local and regional authorities, as well as industry, and update the civil and territorial defense organization system.
"We will also improve the mechanisms for responding to civil initiatives, some of which, of course, deserve great attention," the head of the military department expressed confidence.
"The solution of these and other tasks will increase the combat capabilities of the Armed Forces, ensure the deterrence of aggression against Russia and its allies," the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation quotes the Minister of Defense.
