Putin urged to investigate NATO weapons and apply this data for development in Russia Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense in Moscow.
The Head of State announced the preliminary conclusions of the special military operation in Ukraine. He called for making the experience of his military the basis for improving combat training, called on the military to listen to civil initiatives and take into account "even emotional criticism." Putin also compared the fighters in the SVO zone with the soldiers of the patriotic wars.
Vladimir Putin arrived at the Ministry of Defense building on Frunzenskaya Embankment in Moscow, where he took part in an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. According to TASS, the meeting discussed the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine and its preliminary results.
Putin began his speech with a minute of silence - in memory of the servicemen who died in Ukraine. After that, the president said that the military power of "almost all major NATO countries" is being actively used against Russia.
Nevertheless, Putin added, the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces are growing day by day, and "the process will increase."
"The tasks of the SVO will certainly be fulfilled, security will be ensured in all territories of the Russian Federation," Putin stressed.
He also said that the Russian military in the special operation "act courageously and steadfastly," fighting "the same way as in the Patriotic War of 1812, the First World War and the Great Patriotic War."
Nevertheless, the President noted, the fighting in Ukraine "outlined issues that need to be worked on." Among the problems is the issue of providing military personnel with communications.
At the same time, there are no restrictions on the financing of the Armed Forces, "the country gives the army everything they ask for."
In addition, it is necessary to increase and expand the arsenals of modern shock weapons, Putin noted.
"Partial mobilization has revealed certain problems, it is necessary to modernize the system of military enlistment offices," TASS reports the president's words.
Speaking about mobilization, Putin also said that 150 thousand people out of all 300 thousand mobilized Russians are trained at the training grounds. "This is a sufficient reserve," the president added.
"The strength of Russia has always been in the unity of the army and the people, and it will be so today," the President of the Russian Federation believes.
Vladimir Putin also called for checking the tactical and technical characteristics (TTX) of military equipment in real combat conditions. "Something works fine, something needs to be improved," he added.
The President also spoke about nuclear forces. According to him, the Russian Federation will "maintain and improve the combat readiness of its nuclear triad, this is the basis of the balance of power in the world."
At the same time, the level of modern weapons in the Russian nuclear forces "exceeded 91%," Putin said.
He also noted that the latest Sarmat intercontinental missiles will be put on combat duty "in the near future."
Finally, the President set the military the task of increasing the combat capabilities of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation. He also touched on the issue of drones - Russian military drones should be "integrated into a single network", and all branches and companies of the national army should be provided with them.
Putin also said that NATO weapons should be analyzed and used to build the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
"You have all this, and all this should be carefully analyzed, used to build our armed forces, as I have already said, to increase the combat capabilities of our troops, as well as domestic special services. Our units gained huge combat experience during this special operation. The task of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, as I have already said, is to carefully analyze this experience, systematize it as quickly as possible and include it in programs and plans for training personnel, training troops in general and supplying the necessary equipment to the troops," he summed up.
