The crew of the naval minesweeper "Yakov Balyaev" of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) during the exercise to overcome the area with a mine danger in one of the sea ranges of the Avacha Bay used the unmanned boat "Skanda" to search for sea mines. This was reported in the press service of the Eastern Military District.
The minesweeper of the connection of ships protecting the water area of Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia left the base, worked out the tasks of the anti-sabotage patrol and performed a control and reconnaissance search for mines.
"The personnel of the MTSCH "Yakov Balyaev" during the passage in the area with conditional minefields used an automatic complex for searching and detecting mines "Sharp", the Livadia hydroacoustic station and the unmanned boat "Skanda". The crew of the unmanned boat remotely performed a search for mock—ups of mines in the danger zone," the report says.
At the second stage of the exercise, the crew of the Yakov Balyaev set up a trawl and led a group of warships behind it to the designated area. On the way back, the personnel of the sea minesweeper worked out the algorithm for destroying mines with underwater and surface autonomous mine countermeasures.
Earlier, TASS, citing a source in the military-industrial complex, reported that the Pacific Fleet could receive the Anatoly Shlemov minesweeper of the 12700 project before the beginning of 2023. The ship is being tested.
