The Ukrainian army will receive a batch of THeMIS robotic platforms developed by the Estonian company Milrem Robotics. The platforms will be delivered in two versions. This is stated on the website of the Estonian company.
The contract for the supply of 14 (fourteen) THeMIS robotic platforms to the APU was signed by Milrem Robotics, the developer of this system, and the German defense company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW). The purchase is fully funded by the German Ministry of Defense.
According to the contract, by the end of this year Kiev will receive seven unmanned platforms in the version of an evacuation vehicle designed to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield, seven more drones will be delivered to Ukraine in the second quarter of 2023. They are planned to be used for road clearance, special equipment from the French defense manufacturer CNIM Systèmes Industriels will be included.
The company noted that this year they handed over to Ukraine one THeMIS platform in an option for the evacuation of the wounded. It is emphasized that it turned out to be "a very valuable asset."
The ground-based unmanned vehicle under the designation THeMIS (UGV) was developed by the Estonian company Milrem Robotics, quite well-known in the market of robotic equipment. The platform is electric, two independent tracked chassis units are driven by an electric motor powered by batteries or a diesel generator. The payload weight is 700 kg, the speed indicated by the developer is 20 km/h. It is able to move for 8 hours, on batteries - 1.5 hours. Length x width x height - 2400 x 2000 x 1150 mm.
