TSAMTO, November 16. On November 16, Admiralty Shipyards JSC held a solemn ceremony of raising the St. Andrew's Naval Flag on a large diesel-electric submarine "Ufa" project 636.3.
The event was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. He called today's event "a real holiday for the Russian Navy."
"We are accepting another combat unit from the series, which will go to the Pacific Fleet. Submarines of this project have proven their reliability, high combat stability," N. Evmenov noted. – We signed the acceptance certificate and raised the flag on the Ufa submarine, which means that all the tests were passed with a rating of at least "good" and "excellent". Many thanks to the shipbuilders, the delivery crew – they were ready to work at any time of the day or night."
Alexander Buzakov, General Director of Admiralty Shipyards JSC, called the raising of the flag on the Ufa DPL "a significant event not only for the company's staff, but also for the entire Navy of the country."
"Admiralty shipyards continue to build a series of submarines of six units for the Pacific Fleet. The two subsequent submarines Mozhaisk and Yakutsk will also be delivered within the terms of the contract," Buzakov said. – Shipyards traditionally build ships with high quality, which has been repeatedly confirmed, including in combat conditions. We continue the work of our predecessors and assure that we will not let our customers down in the future."
Vladimir Korolev, Deputy Director General for Military Shipbuilding and Special Programs of JSC "USC", called the selfless work of Admiralty workers a real example for all shipbuilders.
Ufa is the fourth submarine of the series for the Pacific Fleet, laid down in November 2019 with the participation of the Commander–in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, launched in March this year.
Today, the company continues construction of the fifth and sixth submarines of the series, Mozhaysk and Yakutsk, respectively. The submarines were laid in pairs in August 2021 with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. At present, shipyard workers are carrying out completion work at the Mozhaysk nuclear power plant. The launch of the ship is scheduled for spring 2023. Hydraulic tests of all the ship's block modules have been completed at the Yakutsk DPL, specialists are carrying out electrical work and insulation of the hull.
Submarines of the modified 636 project have a higher (compared to previous projects) combat effectiveness. The optimal combination of acoustic stealth and target detection range, the latest inertial navigation system, modern automated information and control system, powerful high-speed torpedo and missile armament ensure the world priority of ships of this class in the field of non-nuclear submarine shipbuilding. Admiralty shipyards are the undisputed leader in the construction of submarines of this class, as well as their warranty and after-sales service.
