St. Petersburg shipbuilders will hand over 16 warships to customers by 2025

/tass/. Shipbuilding enterprises of St. Petersburg plan to transfer 16 warships, four submarines and six military vessels to customers by 2025. Alexey Yakovlev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg, told about this at a press conference in the St. Petersburg press center of TASS.

"The shipbuilding industry is now quite well loaded, orders are scheduled until 2027. From now until 2025, St. Petersburg shipbuilding enterprises plan to transfer four submarines, 16 warships, six military vessels to customers, and the Keel Quotas investment program is actively developing. During this time, 24 fishing vessels should be transferred, three nuclear icebreakers, two large passenger vessels and one scientific vessel," he said.

Yakovlev added that the shipbuilding industry is the leading one in terms of the number of employees and the volume of production in St. Petersburg. Admiralty Shipyards, Severnaya Verf, and Baltiyskiy Zavod produce not only warships, but also civilian products: icebreakers, ferries, bulk carriers, vessels of various classes and purposes.

Industry in St. Petersburg is now developing dynamically, most of this potential is made up of enterprises of the military-industrial complex - more than 500 large and medium-sized enterprises that work in various industries, such as shipbuilding, radio electronics, instrument making. They produce modern radio communication means of communication, aviation, space equipment, military equipment, uniforms.

According to Yakovlev, St. Petersburg designers and designers work closely with shipbuilders, one of the most important and promising areas of development is instrument engineering. There are about 70 organizations and enterprises in St. Petersburg that are engaged in the production of radars, avionics, equipment for broadcasting stations, telecommunications systems. Over the past few years, the capitalization of the industrial development fund has almost tripled.

In addition, answering a question from TASS, Vyacheslav Borodavkin, the first vice-rector of the Ustinov BSTU, said that in the near future a representative office of Voenmekh will appear in the Republic of Crimea. The search for a suitable room is already underway.

"Currently, we have completed the work on the opening of the Voenmekh representative office in Yekaterinburg and are actively working on the opening of such a representative office in the Crimea. This is a structure that is part of the university and will represent its interests in the Republic of Crimea. The main task is to conduct career guidance work, evaluate possible employers with appropriate recommendations. In the future, it will be possible to open a branch. Now we are determining the site, as soon as the lease agreement is concluded, in the future everything will happen within a month," he said.

Borodavkin also recalled that this year the university celebrated its 90th anniversary, in this regard, many events are planned, including exhibitions, conferences and projects for the implementation of student initiatives, one of the most striking events will be the military-technical congress "Voentech-2022" on November 17-19, its participants will be able to get the necessary information about the defense industry.
