Russia has revived the program drifting polar stations, the expedition "North pole-41" began its work in the Arctic ocean. As reported by TG-channel "Ice," ice-resistant self-propelled platform North pole arrived to the place of vmerzanii.
LSP "North pole" arrived in the district of the Novosibirsk Islands and Hove. Platform secured by ropes, now she will assume the role of a Russian camp drifting station "North pole-41". Opening of the station took place on 2 October 2022 at 7 am at the point with coordinates 82°37’ North latitude and 155°31’ East longitude. Over the ice raised the flag of the expedition.
LSP "North pole" left Saint Petersburg in early September, arriving in Murmansk in about two weeks. There on Board went up the scientific part of the expedition in the amount of 27 scientists, then LSP went to the area of the new Siberian Islands to heave to and to merznut in the ice, thereby to launch a new expedition.

Ice-resistant self-propelled platform project is an all-season 00903 research platform with the functionality of the research center. Designed for year-round scientific research in the Arctic ocean. Founded officially on the "Admiralty shipyards" 10 APR 2019, launched on 18 December 2020, testing began in the spring of this year, delivered to the customer at the end of the summer.
The ship will be able to conduct geological, acoustic, geophysical and Oceanographic observations, to move in the ice without the involvement of the icebreaker (ice class Arc8), make the Mi-8AMT (Mi-17). Length – of 83.1 m; width – 22.5 m; displacement – about 10390 tons; the power of EU – 4200 kW; speed - 10 knots; the autonomy of the fuel reserves of about 2 years; service life - not less than 25 years. The crew of 14 people + 34 scientific staff.
