Radar MMS stated that the company's electric helicopters are more autonomous than KUBINKA quadrocopters (Moscow Region), Aug 26 – RIA Novosti.

Electric drones of the Radar MMC Research and Production Enterprise are able to stay in the air 3-4 times longer than devices with a similar battery and payload capacity, due to the fact that they are helicopters, not quadrocopters, Ivan Antsev, executive director of the enterprise, told RIA Novosti during the Army-2022 forum last week.

"Its biggest advantage is that a quadcopter can stay in the air for no more than 30-40 minutes, and an electric unmanned helicopter - up to two hours at maximum load, depending on weather conditions. Its cruising speed is about 70-75 kilometers per hour, respectively, it is possible to calculate both the radius and the maximum range to which it will fly at such a speed," Antsev said.

He clarified that the compact UAV BVS VT 30E is easy to use and does not require long training of personnel. Its take-off weight is slightly less than 30 kilograms, that is, according to the existing legislation, it does not require certification, it is enough just to register such a device. The maximum payload of the drone is up to 7 kilograms.

The drone can be equipped with an optoelectronic station or a radar station for monitoring power lines or gas pipelines, as well as for opening the ground situation. In addition, with its help, you can simply deliver small-sized loads. The dimensions of the drone allow it to be transported in a mobile container – a special case.

The drone is controlled using an industrial tablet with software developed by Radar MMS. It has both a fully autonomous mode, when the drone is working on a specific flight task, and a combined one, when the operator can intervene in this task, if necessary.

Antsev said that potential customers who are already interested in such drones need hundreds of drones, and he estimated the market with a five-year perspective at thousands of such machines.
