TSAMTO, August 22. The fire-hazardous situation on the territory of Russia once again raises the question of the expediency of using only water to extinguish forest fires. In case of intense fires, water evaporates before reaching the earth's surface, which devalues the work of aviators and reduces it to zero.
This explains the inefficiency of using airplanes and helicopters for firefighting, including in the Ryazan region.
Meanwhile, only in our country has developed a unique aviation fire extinguishing system capable of coping with fires of any intensity, including forest fires. Unfortunately, for bureaucratic reasons, this development turned out to be unclaimed.
Specialists of the State Enterprise "Basalt" in the early 2000s developed an aviation fire extinguishing device that can "pacify" a fire on an area of up to a thousand square meters.
According to the developers, one aerial bomb is capable of localizing forest fires and suppressing fire storm zones on an area of up to a thousand square meters.
Moreover, the aerial bomb can be used in areas inaccessible to special equipment.
The aviation fire extinguishing system (ASP-500) is a 400-liter plastic body with a tail stabilizer and a vortex generator, which ensures stable movement along a given trajectory.
One plane can deliver more than a hundred such bombs to the fire zone. Application safety issues are solved due to the design of the product, which provides for the practical absence of fragmentation and high-explosive action. When the ASP-500 is detonated, the air shock wave completely knocks down the flame, after which the extinguishing agent covers the entire area of the ignition source with a targeted aim.
According to the developers, the ASP-500 is more efficient than traditional fire extinguishing means. According to statistics, the efficiency of water delivery to the emergency area by plane or helicopter does not exceed 10%: due to hot air flows, water evaporates before it reaches the ground. The aerial bomb delivers the extinguishing mixture directly to the ground, to the very center of the fire.
Back in 2009, the development of the ASP-500 aviation fire extinguishing system was fully completed at Basalt, which localizes forest fires and suppresses fire storm zones in man-made accidents and catastrophes on an area of up to 1000 square meters. meters at ambient air temperature in the areas of the carrier take-off and the ignition source from minus 5 degrees. With up to plus 45 degrees. C in any weather conditions. At the same time, the reliability of the tool is at least 0.97.
When using traditional aviation fire extinguishing drains, a small amount of the discharged extinguishing agent enters the fire zone. At the same time, the ASP-500 ensures 100% delivery of the mass of the extinguishing agent to the fire zone. In addition, the explosive method of dispersing the composition creates an additional fire extinguishing factor – an air shock wave.
The use of ASP-500 as a means of "first strike" on the zones of intense gorenje will allow to quickly suppress the most dangerous fire centers, subsequently increasing the efficiency of traditional drain systems by tens of times.
It seems appropriate that the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations should return to this development and establish serial production of the ASP-500 to save public funds, which are uselessly spent in huge amounts to extinguish fires with water from airplanes and helicopters.
