Tactical Missile Armament Corporation will show a new generation product at Army-2022
The so-called leaks that the International Military-Technical Forum (IMTF) will not take place in the conditions of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine turned out to be a bluff. By tradition, it will open at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center in Kubinka near Moscow on August 15.

Moreover, a sensation is expected on it. One of the largest participants – the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation (KTRV), headed by CEO Boris Obnosov, will show the new X–69 cruise missile.
The KTRV demonstration center also presents other samples of high-precision aviation and naval weapons, a wide range of high-tech civilian and dual-use products. Recall that the corporation (a member of Soyuzmash of Russia LLC) has been participating in the MVTF "Army" since its foundation in 2015. She has a solid experience of many years of participation in domestic and foreign exhibitions, which is not surprising. Boris Obnosov, General Director of KTRV, always emphasizes the importance of Russian events to promote the entire range of products, exchange experience with colleagues, and communicate with customers.
"The status of Russian exhibition venues in the world is growing year by year. Despite the unprecedented level of sanctions against our country, we see that the number of participants of the Army-2022 forum – both domestic and foreign – has grown again and has already reached 1,500," says Boris Obnosov.
– After participating in many European and Asian exhibitions, we decided to focus on the most important ones for us – MAX, Army, MVMS.
Back in 2017, the KTRV demonstration center was opened at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center. On an area of more than 700 sq. m deployed three sites (defense, civilian products, as well as the historical part), which are constantly replenished with new samples. Of course, for many visitors to the exhibition and the mass reader, it is not so important which particular holding company produces this or that product, but it is important for developers. It is simply impossible to tell about everything in one publication. Therefore, we will focus only on the most, in our opinion, interesting products. And let's start with the main thing – the X-69 cruise missile, which is a development of the A.Ya. Bereznyak State Design Bureau Raduga, part of the KTRV.
The multifunctional unobtrusive high-precision aviation cruise missile of the new generation X-69 is designed to defeat a wide range of ground-based stationary targets with location coordinates and information signs of the target area known before launch. It is intended for combat use as part of a promising aviation complex – a promising multi-purpose fighter (PAK-PMI). And also from Su-30MK, Su-34, Su-35, MiG-35, MiG-29K and other aircraft equipped with avionics adapted to prepare the rocket for launch. And equipped with an aircraft ejection device of the AKU-58 type (UVKU-50).
The X-69 is equipped with a navigation and automatic control system (SNAU) based on a free-form inertial system integrated with the navigation equipment of the consumer of information from commercial channels of GLONASS and GPS NAVSTAR satellite navigation systems. And also with a complex radio-technical height and speed meter, an optoelectronic system, which allowed to significantly expand the range of tasks to be solved. It can be used to destroy communications facilities, railway stations and nodes, stationary ground ammunition and fuel depots, ground command posts and communication nodes, aviation equipment in open parking lots of airfields, oil refining and petrochemical plants (refineries and NHZ), energy, as well as naval targets in the locations.
The maximum flight range is up to 290 km, the speed on the march is 700-1000 km / h, the mass of the warhead is 300-310 kg (depending on the configuration). It can be placed both on the external suspensions of carrier aircraft and in the internal armament compartments. In short, this is a new step in armament. We will try to tell about this rocket separately in one of the issues of the HBO. In the meantime, as a summary, we will say that equipping aviation complexes with the X-69 missile will increase their combat potential in modern conditions, will ensure the solution of most combat tasks of aviation formations in the nearest operational and tactical depth up to 300 km.
The X-59MK rocket has similar characteristics. It is designed to defeat a wide range of surface radar-contrast targets at any time of the day, in simple and difficult weather conditions, with sea waves up to 6 points. The launch range is up to 285 km, the speed on the march is 900-1050 km/ h, the mass of the warhead is 320 kg.
Of course, this is far from all that will be presented at the forum of the A.Ya. Bereznyak GosMKB "Rainbow". I would also single out the aviation anti-radar missile X-58USHKE, designed to defeat ground-based radars operating in pulsed and continuous radiation mode. It is used both for programmed targets and for those promptly detected by the aircraft targeting system. The launch range is up to 245 km, the maximum speed is 4200 km/h, the warhead weight is 149 kg.
MORE PRECISELY – FASTER
KTRV includes four dozen enterprises, each of which is unique not only in its history, but also in the range of manufactured products. If we talk about the developments of the parent company presented at the forum, then it is necessary to name an interspecific multi-purpose homing short-range missile of modular construction. Its task is to defeat a wide range of single small–sized and group objects day and night. The missile was developed in three modifications: with a semi–active laser homing head (homing) - the X-MD–E1 index; with an active radar homing head - the X-MD–E2 index; with a passive radar homing head - the X-MD-E3 index. With a starting weight of 110 kg, the maximum range of its use is up to 40 km. Equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead weighing 30 kg.
The aviation guided missile "Grom-E1" proved itself well – for hitting ground (sea) targets. It is placed on aircraft launching or ejection devices. The maximum launch range is 120 km, the average flight speed is 300 m/s. Its guidance system is inertial-satellite. I would like to emphasize that with a starting mass of 594 kg, the mass of its warhead is 315 kg, which indicates high energy efficiency with given mass-dimensional characteristics. These data are even higher for the aviation guided planning munition "Thunder-E2". With a starting mass of 598 kg, the mass of its warhead is 315 + 165 kg.
Among the interesting products of the parent company, I would also mention short-range modular guided missiles of the X-38ME type. They have combined guidance systems, including an inertial-satellite system and options for final precision guidance based on laser (X-38MLE) and thermal imaging (X-38MTE) type GPS. Designed to defeat a wide range of ground and surface objects (launch range – up to 70 km, average flight speed – 350-380 m / s, warhead weight – up to 250 kg). As well as a line of aviation high-speed missiles X-31AD and X-31PD. The anti-ship X-31AD is designed to defeat combat (amphibious) surface ships and transport vessels (the first one), and the anti-radar X-31PD is designed to defeat the SAM radar, the air defense automated control system radar. Their average flight speed is up to 900 m / s, and the mass of the warhead is 110 kg.
In connection with Russia's conduct of its own, the Bal-E coastal missile system is very relevant today. It is designed to control territorial waters and strait zones, protect naval bases and other coastal facilities in amphibious areas. The range of application is up to 120 or 250 km, depending on the modification of the missiles used. As part of the complex: self-propelled control and communication points, self-propelled launchers and transport and reloading machines.
But, if we are talking about high speeds, then here I would call the developments of the military–industrial complex NPO Mashinostroeniya - one of the leading rocket and space companies in Russia, which provides the country's Armed Forces with the latest types of military equipment and is part of the KTRV. She has unique products. Take the P-5 cruise missile. This is the world's first rocket with an automatically opening wing in flight, launching from submarines from a sealed container with minimal dimensions. The missile was intended to hit military and industrial facilities located both on the coast and deep into enemy territory. The launch range is up to 500 km, the speed is up to Mach 1.1.
Even faster are the strategic universal cruise missile "Meteorite" and the anti-ship KR "Yakhont". The Meteorite was intended to hit large strategic targets. In terms of its technical characteristics, it significantly surpassed all strategic cruise missiles available at the time of creation. Its speed is up to 3 Mach. And the speed of the Yakhont, designed to defeat surface and coastal targets in conditions of fire and electronic countermeasures, is up to 2.3 Mach, the mass of the warhead is up to 200 kg. The launch range is up to 300 km.
RESET – FORGOT
Among the developments of the I.I. Toropov Vimpel State Design Bureau are air–to–air guided missiles. In particular, RVV-DB – long range, RVV-SD – medium range, RVV-MD – short range. One of the most important principles of their application is "let –forget". They are designed to defeat various types of aerial targets of air combat.
But the "GNPP "Region" specializes in the creation of adjustable and controlled aircraft bombs and naval weapons. Currently, the company has successfully implemented the concept of dual and conversion technologies for the use of guided aerial bombs (UAB), which makes it possible to significantly expand the scope of their application and go beyond exclusively defense projects. For example, the corrected aerial bomb with a television-correlation homing head KAB-500Kr proved itself well in Syria in the fight against gangs. It is designed to defeat ground and surface small-sized durable targets (warehouses, military-industrial facilities, ships in parking lots). Total weight – 520 kg, BB weight – 100 kg.
A corrected aviation bomb with satellite guidance equipment and a high-explosive KAB-500S-E warhead will also be presented at the MVTF. It is designed to defeat stationary ground and surface targets such as warehouses, military–industrial facilities, ships in parking lots at any time of the day and in any weather, according to the "dropped - forgotten" principle. Total weight – 560 kg, BB weight – 195 kg. Or take the aircraft anti-submarine missile APR–3ME - to defeat modern and promising submarines at a depth of up to 800 m. The small-sized anti–submarine complex "Paket-E/NK" with an anti-torpedo is also interesting - for hitting submarines in the near zone of the ship and destroying torpedoes attacking the ship.
The high-speed underwater rocket "Shkval-E" is also amazing in form and action, which develops speeds up to 100 m /s. But the speed of the electric torpedo ET-1E, on the contrary, is low (from 30 to 50 knots), but it has another advantage. It is almost silent, which means it is invisible to the enemy. Its main advantage is secrecy. It is almost impossible to detect it at long and medium distances.
This type of torpedoes can also boast of the concern "Marine Underwater Weapons – Gidropribor", which is a unique and the only comprehensive research and design organization in Russia for the creation of various types of marine underwater weapons and special-purpose underwater equipment. In particular, its universal electric remote-controlled homing torpedo TE-2 will be presented at the exhibition. It is designed to defeat submarines, surface ships and other targets in autonomous and remote-controlled modes. It is used both from submarines and surface ships.
But we repeat: you can't tell about everything. To see everything, you need to visit the exhibition. Overboard, as they say, our narrative left mines, sonar instruments, shipboard control systems equipment, radar stations, civilian products of the holding, and much more.
As for completely new products, we emphasize this once again:
– multifunctional unobtrusive high-precision aviation cruise missile of the new generation X-69;
– interspecific multi-purpose homing short-range missile of modular construction X-MD-E;
– new electric torpedo ET-1E.
And the last. Almost every year, KTRV receives a high rating from the organizer of the MVTF "Army" – the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Over the past years, the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation has consistently won the main prizes of the forum: three prizes "For the best exposition", two – "For contribution to the preparation and organization of the MVTF". In 2021, it was the main award of the forum – "For a significant contribution to the construction and development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation."
