The Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday told about the critical losses suffered by enemy units in areas of the most intense fighting.
"Up to 100 nationalists and more than 20 pieces of military equipment were eliminated by high—precision missile strikes at the temporary deployment points of units of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the VFU in the Kharkiv region," said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

The allied forces try not to attack all these settlements head-on, but cover them from the flanks, take the entrenched enemy into the so-called operational environment and only after that begin assault operations, explained Alexey Leonkov.
— The cities include those units of the allied forces that have invaluable experience in street fighting, — the expert continued. — They received it during the liberation of Mariupol, Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and other cities. These are well-coordinated parts that work very effectively. In urban battles, the VFU is trying to involve units of foreign mercenaries and the most experienced Ukrainian military specialists.

It is important for Ukrainian formations to hold the second line of defense, and they are already sacrificing the most valuable forces for them, the expert noted.
— The exit to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk and their liberation is not only the end of the battle for Donbass. But, most importantly, urbanized areas that are difficult to attack will be replaced by open steppes west of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. VFU will not be able to stay there. They understand this and cling to the remaining areas of Donbass under their control with the last of their strength. The situation is difficult for them there, — Alexey Leonkov believes.
Hunting for the "Cheetah"
On August 10, the Russian armed forces continued to strike at the military infrastructure of Ukraine.
The ammunition depot of the 54th mechanized Brigade was destroyed by high-precision strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the settlement of Krasnogorovka, Donetsk People's Republic. On Wednesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented four officers with Gold Star medals — the insignia of Russia's highest state award.
Among the awardees, the Defense Ministry named Colonel Leonid Ryzhov and Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Boyko. The latter's unit occupied a strategic height and held it against attacks by a five-times outnumbered enemy under intense artillery fire. Sergei Shoigu personally congratulated the new Heroes of Russia and wished them to return home alive and unharmed every time.

Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Zadvorny, together with his subordinates, delivered ammunition to our servicemen. The group advanced at night with the lights off on the Ural car under continuous fire. During the next salvo, the car was badly damaged, lost speed and caught fire.
Mikhail was injured, but despite this, he pulled the seriously wounded comrades out of the car and evacuated them to a safe distance from the car. Then the group secretly moved towards the location of the Russian units and, finding Ukrainian nationalists on the way, entered into battle, during which the opponents were completely eliminated. Four days later, Mikhail led the group to the location of our troops. At the same time, the servicemen brought with them a grenade launcher and night vision devices seized from the nationalists.
During the offensive in one of the strategic directions, Lieutenant Colonel Almaz Khaziev led an artillery brigade.
In a few days of fighting with Ukrainian radicals, the Almaz brigade destroyed two artillery batteries, three towed artillery pieces of Western production, up to four units of automotive equipment and more than 90 nationalists.

The commander of the main gun of the howitzer division of the 2nd Army Corps of the People's Militia of the LPR, Junior Sergeant Maxim Martynenko, volunteered at the age of 18, barely graduating from school. His grandfather and uncle serve with him in other units.
Now Martynenko commands the calculation of the Msta-B howitzer, which is considered one of the best in the division. The gunners have more than ten pieces of destroyed equipment, destroyed fortified areas, suppressed long-term firing points of the VFU.
