Uralvagonzavod has sent another batch of special equipment as part of the execution of the state defense order
MOSCOW, August 4. /tass/. A batch of upgraded new T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks and armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-1M was delivered by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Uralvagonzavod" (UVZ, part of Rostec). This was announced on Thursday by the company.
Uralvagonzavod <...> has sent another batch of special equipment as part of the execution of the state defense order. T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks and armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-1M were shipped to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. By good tradition, drawings of little Tagil residents were invested in special equipment," the message says.
As emphasized at Uralvagonzavod, the T-90M and BRAM-1M are mass-produced and are well known to the Russian military. They are among the newest and most promising developments of the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (part of Uralvagonzavod).
The T-90M "Breakthrough" tank is the most advanced machine in the T-90 family, as well as the most adapted to action in modern combat conditions, including due to the presence of all-course protection, a modern all-day highly automated fire control system and the implementation of measures to increase survivability.
The machine received a fundamentally new turret, different from the serial one, and a more powerful engine (1,130 hp). The Breakthrough is equipped with a 125 mm tank gun, which provides the use of new high-power ammunition, as well as a guided missile that allows destroying enemy tanks at a range of up to 5 km. The new multi-channel sight ensures the use of weapons at any time of the day. In addition, the ability to exchange data with other vehicles in real time has become one of the main features of the upgraded tank.
The BRAM-1M, unlike the previous BRAM-1, created on the basis of the T-72 tank, was developed on the basis of the T-90 tank. The machine is equipped with the same power plant as the "Breakthrough" - a 1000-horsepower engine produced by CHTZ-Uraltrak, allowing speeds up to 60 km / h. The BRAM-1M is equipped with two winches, a hydraulic crane, a bulldozer coulter, an electric welding machine and surveillance devices for conducting technical reconnaissance on the battlefield. The UVZ stressed that there is always a repair fund on board the car, which allows not only to repair or, if necessary, evacuate any damaged equipment weighing up to 52 tons, but also to restore the damaged infrastructure.
The BRAM-1M is as simple to control as the T-72 and T-90 tanks, says the test driver of combat vehicles, Alexander Gizatulin, whose words are quoted by the press service. "He can work in any area, under any conditions. The car is comfortable. It is easy to cope with special equipment. The worked crew will prepare the BRAM for work quickly enough. If the load is small, then the crane will deploy in two to three minutes. But welding, of course, requires professional skills," he added.
