The special purpose nuclear submarine K-329 Belgorod of project 09852 will allow the Russian Navy to "dominate in the Arctic". This is described in the article of the American edition of The Drive.
The publication notes that the longest submarine in the world, which will become the carrier of strategic unmanned underwater vehicles of the Poseidon type, is "an underwater strike and reconnaissance platform that can perform a wide range of tasks."
The publication claims that thanks to the K-329 Belgorod, the Russian Navy will be able to find objects on the seabed and manipulate them, in particular, cut underwater cables or install data collection tools on them.
"Despite the fact that it took decades, the Russian Navy has finally commissioned one of its most versatile and frightening weapons," it says in conclusion.
In June, Sevmash transferred Russian Navy submarine K-329 "Belgorod". Thus, the Russian navy received the first full-time carrier of nuclear torpedoes, which are considered "Doomsday weapons".
In July 2021, The National Interest magazine stated that the K-329 Belgorod submarine is the most advanced submarine of the Russian Navy.
In April 2019, the submarine was launched in Sevmash (Severodvinsk).
