The US Army has identified a problem in the wheeled armored personnel carriers (APC) Stryker ("Stryker") with new means of communication. During the exercises, the lack of electricity generated by the armored personnel carrier limited the operation of the new equipment of the machine, Defense News writes .
The military of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment tested a set of equipment Capability Set ’23 at the Grafenwer training ground in Germany. During the tests, it turned out that the electricity generated by the machine is not enough to operate the equipment.
"The unit said that they had some problems with the inability to keep a silent watch for a long time, when, in fact, the Strikers are disconnected and run on batteries during night operations," said Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Judy.
Capability Set ’23 was developed for departments using the Stryker platform. The equipment includes network access points, improved GPS equipment and new radios for quick data exchange with command posts.
In June, Defense News reported that the US military was thinking about active protection for the Stryker family of vehicles due to a special military operation in Ukraine.
