The Ministry of Defense received a batch of armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-1M. The equipment was supplied by Uralvagonzavod as part of the state defense order. As noted in the press service of the UVZ, each car has colorful drawings from children with wishes to the Russian military.
The batch of BRAM-1 recovered to the troops, the shipment of equipment was made the day before. How many cars are in the batch is not reported, there is also no information where the cars will be delivered. There is an assumption that part of the BRAM-1M will be sent at the disposal of a Russian group participating in a special military operation in Ukraine.
The BRAM-1M is an upgraded version of the BRAM-1, adopted in 1975. It was adopted in 2013, and has been supplied to the troops since 2016. This version of the BRAM was developed on the basis of the T-90 tank, designed to accompany units armed with T-72, T-80 and T-90 tanks.
The main task is the technical support and evacuation of tanks and other armored vehicles from the battlefield. The equipment of the BRAM-1M includes a hydraulic crane, a winch, an electric welding machine. Armed with a 12.7 mm machine gun on an open turret.
It is noted that the BRAM-1M can also be used for civilian purposes, in particular for the restoration of destroyed infrastructure. Unlike the predecessor of the BRAM-1, the upgraded machine has a winch with an increased traction force of up to 35 tons, as well as a hydraulic crane with an increased lifting capacity of up to 20 tons.
