MOSCOW, July 6. /tass/. Central Research and Testing Institute of Engineering Troops named after The Hero of the Soviet Union, Lieutenant General D. M. Karbyshev, patented a complex of engineering support for combat with replaceable interchangeable containers for airmobile and amphibious units. It allows you to increase their capabilities, as well as increase automation when performing engineering tasks. This follows from the patent for the invention distributed by the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (available to TASS).
"The amphibious complex includes an armored personnel carrier, an armored car, a wheeled transport vehicle and a set of containers. The amphibious armored personnel carrier is designed in such a way that an unfilled space is formed between the driver and the power compartment, where a container is installed by means of a hydraulic lifting device. The armored car is additionally equipped with hydraulic lifting and locking devices. A set of containers - different types of containers for their intended purpose for performing engineering support tasks," the document says.
It is assumed that the complex is landed on the landing site near the place where the tasks are performed, after which an armored personnel carrier or armored car loads one of the containers, performs the task and changes the used (or unnecessary) container to another, depending on the tactical situation.
As specified in the patent, containers of various purposes are interchangeable when performing tasks on an armored car and an armored personnel carrier. When changing the tactical situation, no additional effort and preparation time is needed - it is enough to simply replace the container, it follows from the text of the patent. The means of transportation of unused containers is a wheeled transport vehicle equipped with an "escalator" system that allows you to remove and lift containers along the guides "in a fairly short time."
"On-board computers on an armored car and an armored personnel carrier are brought into the automated control system for instant data exchange with the commanders of neighboring units during combined arms combat. So, for example, the form of barriers at the site of the installation of a minefield is filled in during the task, and when an armored car or armored personnel carrier returns to the starting line, the boundaries of the minefield are transferred to the commanders of neighboring units to conduct competent tactical actions," the patent says.
The equipment placed in the "mine clearance installation" container is designed to create a passage in the enemy's minefield, the "minelayer" container contains equipment and ammunition for installing a remote minefield. In addition, the containers "water extraction and purification point", "diesel generator" and "a set of engineering intelligence tools" are meant. As emphasized in the patent, the use of the complex will increase the capabilities of engineering airmobile units of all types and branches of the armed forces, increase the automation of most engineering tasks performed by airmobile units and reduce the preparation time for their implementation.
