"Also, while going to sea, the crews of the fleet ships conducted a complex of artillery firing on large and small sea shields simulating a detachment of warships of a conditional enemy. In addition, the firing was carried out on buoy fields located outside the line of sight, which imitated the coastal artillery of a conditional enemy," the report says.
As part of the exercises, the fleet ships, in cooperation with Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft and Ka-27 helicopters, searched, tracked and destroyed a simulated enemy submarine using radar and sonar equipment, as well as anti-submarine weapons. "Special attention was paid to the actions of anti-submarine calculations during the search, detection and tracking of the submarine, interaction with anti-submarine aircraft in the area of the alleged location of the submarine, as well as the use of anti-submarine weapons," the report said.
The crews of the anti-submarine ships also carried out a complex of firings with RBU-6000 rocket launchers and worked out the practical use of torpedo weapons.
