Within its framework, the production of aircraft engines will be expanded on the territory of the SEZ of the Northern Capital, including the construction of a production and design building, a development workshop, and a complex for bench tests.
The corresponding agreement within the framework of SPIEF-2022 was signed by JSC "UEC-Klimov", the management company of JSC "SEZ "St. Petersburg" and the administration of St. Petersburg. UEC-Klimov received the status of a resident of the special economic zone on the basis of the decision of the expert council adopted on June 9.
At the SPIEF site, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Khersontsev presented a certificate of residency to Alexander Artyukhov, General Director of JSC "UEC" – the management company of JSC "UEC–Klimov".
"Special economic zones are being created, among other things, for the development of high-tech sectors of the economy, the development of technologies and the production of new types of products. This is especially relevant in the current conditions, when we need to import both individual goods and technologies. Various benefits, preferences, administrative privileges in the SEZ allow to increase the operational stability of the business and reduce its payback period. In turn, we are constantly improving the SEZ mechanism to make it even more comfortable and attractive for investors," Alexey Hersontsev said.
The volume of investments in the development of the UEC-Klimov production complex until 2026 is estimated at 37.7 billion rubles.
"The growth in demand for Russian-made aircraft poses a task for UEC-Klimov to increase the number of engines produced. The company serially produces TV3-117 and VK-2500 gas turbine engines for Russian helicopters, conducts projects to create new engines for Ansat, Ka-226, Ka-62 helicopters, hybrid powerplant and automatic control systems. To increase the pace of production in the territory of the SEZ "Novoorlovskaya", a production and design complex will be built by 2026. The built–up area is 4.9 hectares. The implementation of the project will create almost a thousand new jobs," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
According to the document signed by the parties, JSC "Special Economic Zone "Saint Petersburg" will ensure the creation and provision of infrastructure facilities at the Novoorlovskaya site.
"In the current situation, when the state has set the task of import substitution not only of products, but also of technologies in a number of strategic industries in the shortest possible time, SEZ sites become priority and the most promising in terms of the implementation of investment projects. The SEZ Management Company welcomes new investors and is ready to provide maximum support in the creation of modern high–tech production facilities to meet the needs of the Russian market," said Tamara Rondaleva, General Director of JSC Special Economic Zone Saint Petersburg.
