This modification of the Msta-S self-propelled artillery system looks similar to the basic model, but at the same time, there are differences. The main one is the use of a 155-mm gun with a barrel length of 52 calibers.
2S19M1-155 can hit conventional high-explosive shells at a distance of 30,000 m, when using high-explosive fragmentation ammunition with an ERFB BB gas generator, the range increases to 41,000 m. This is the same as the CAESAR wheeled self-propelled gun from France.

The Russian vehicle currently has advanced guidance and fire control equipment with a ballistic computer, topography and orientation equipment, and a satellite navigation system.
It was reported that a thermal imaging sight was created for her, allowing her to operate effectively at night and in bad weather conditions.

The creators of the French car also provided it with advanced electronics. Interestingly, these self-propelled guns have the same rate of fire - 6-8 rounds per minute.
The Msta crew is protected by armor from enemy bullets and shells, as well as bad weather, which cannot be said about the crew of a competitor who works openly. CAESAR, it seems, has somewhat better mobility, but this is only on good roads and in summer conditions.
Our ACS has more ammunition (45 vs 18), there is a 12.7 mm closed machine gun installation.
