Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, presented the company's annual report for 2021 to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Among the key achievements of the Corporation is an increase in consolidated revenue by 9.9% to 2.06 trillion rubles, as well as a significant increase in the production of civilian products – its share in sales reached 45.5%.
In monetary terms, revenue from civilian products amounted to more than 900 billion rubles. This indicator is provided due to the implementation of large-scale projects in the aircraft and engine building, automotive, electronics and IT, healthcare and other areas.
The consolidated net profit of the Corporation increased by 47% to 163.5 billion rubles. EBITDA increased by 18.3% and reached 334.9 billion rubles. The output per employee amounted to 3.5 million rubles (+9.5%).
Traditionally, Rostec pays special attention to technological development and development of new products. In 2021, the Corporation's enterprises issued 834 patents and 474 know-how, developed over 230 innovative products. The total volume of investments in research and development work has reached 170 billion rubles.
Over 70 technological modernization projects have been implemented. In particular, the technical re-equipment of the production of helicopter engines of the VK-2500 family in St. Petersburg, as well as enterprises of the optical industry in the Vologda and Novosibirsk regions has been carried out.
Among the bright projects in the field of aircraft engineering, Sergey Chemezov noted several premieres of last year – a prototype of the Checkmate light tactical aircraft, a Hunter UAV with a flat jet nozzle and an offshore Mi-171A3 helicopter for servicing fuel and energy facilities.
In addition, in 2021, a certificate was obtained for the serial production of PD-14 engines, within the framework of the MS-21 program, an aircraft equipped with a power plant of this type was tested, and the first MS-21 with a "black wing" made of domestic composite materials was lifted into the air.
Reporting on the achievements of engine building, the head of Rostec also dwelled in detail on the first Russian marine diesel-gas turbine unit M55R, which is serially supplied for the Admiral frigates of the project 22350 series under construction under the import substitution program.
"This year Rostec celebrates 15 years. The Corporation is approaching this date with renewed vigor and a significant margin of safety. Let me remind you that in 2009 Rostec's revenue was about 511 billion rubles. According to the results of last year, the company overcame the milestone of 2 trillion rubles – an increase of almost four times. We have ensured almost 100% fulfillment of the state defense order. At the same time, more than 45% of the revenue came from civilian production, which is a record for the defense industry. Our next target is 50% by 2025. First of all, we are talking about vital industries for the state, such as aviation and automotive, engines, electronics, new materials, medicine. For the Corporation, this is not just a business task, it is our responsibility to the country," said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation.
The head of Rostec elaborated on the latest developments for healthcare. Among them are the Aventa–Vita portable ventilator, the SLE 6000 ventilator to support breathing in newborns and the Oxypolus device, which allows producing pure medical oxygen from the surrounding air.
Among the significant achievements, the head of Rostec also called the delivery of more than 100 million sets of COVID-19 vaccines and the launch of a new coronavirus drug, Covid–globulin, which has been used to treat patients in the country's clinics since 2021.
Sergey Chemezov called the Corporation's employees the main asset of Rostec. Over the year, the costs of various measures of social support for specialists (additional medical insurance, sanatorium-resort provision, corporate sports, etc.) increased by 13% – from 10.8 to 12.2 billion rubles. In particular, about 1 billion rubles were allocated for the implementation of a program through which specialists of enterprises can improve living conditions.
Rostec also continues to build a corporate pension system for employees. The average salary in the Corporation's organizations in 2021 increased to 61.6 thousand rubles, which is 14% higher than the corresponding national indicator.
