Serial production of DGTA-55R gas turbine engines for Russian frigates has been started in Russia, production has been mastered at enterprises that are part of Rostec State Corporation. This was announced by the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov.
The Kremlin hosted a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov, at which the latter reported on the success of enterprises that are part of the corporation for import substitution and the production of new products. Among other things, Chemezov reported on the serial production of gas turbine units developed in Russia for installation on Russian ships instead of those previously supplied from Ukraine.
- he declared.
Recall that the DGTA-M55R, in addition to the M90FR gas turbine engine with a maximum capacity of 27,500 horsepower, includes a 10D49 diesel engine with a capacity of 5,200 horsepower, a RO55R gearbox and control systems. All frigates of Project 22350 under construction and planned for construction will be equipped with Russian DGTA-M55R units, except for the lead Admiral Gorshkov and the first serial Admiral Kasatonov, which received Ukrainian-made installations.
Previously, there was no production of power plants for warships in Russia, to equip ships under construction at Russian shipyards for the Russian Navy, units produced by Zorya - Mashproekt (Nikolaev, Ukraine) were purchased, but after 2014 all production ties were severed and Russian frigates, first of all, were left without power plants.
